On arrival we were told off as we had not printed out our Agoda booking and simply had it on our mobile phone so the welcome was not a top start. We were shown to our room which was right at the top of the house. The room itself was spacious and clean but it was up some very steep wooden stairs/ a ladder which you had to squirm into which made it quite awkward to get in and out of the room.

We were facing out onto the main tourist street (we do know we had booked to be on the main strip and expected noise) but the windows were so thin and didn't close properly that we barely got any sleep. We checked out the next day and found something better a little further away from Tourist'ville.

Not the worst hotel I have been in over 27 years in Vietnam, but by far the worst I have slept in. Wound up in this dump on short notice business trip, after finding all decent rooms {2 or 3 star}in the area booked full and too tired to care I checked in for 2 days
Room stunk of sewage every-time a shower was used upstairs. Vo has a pharmacy in reception, She got crazy angry when I brought a large amount of medication from the largest and safest pharmacy in Saigon and not from her. Who would buy medication from somebody who is so cheap, that I was charged $2.5 for a 60 minute late checkout. {I did tell her the day before} Likely with her attitude, the medication she sells is fake, A HUGE problem in Vietnam. I am out of here in 40 minutes, spend a little money, stay in Saigon Beautiful Hotel across the street.

I thought I got a good price (10$/double room with A/C TV comfortable beds and well located) but the staff entered in my room when I was left. They stole 1 000 000dong hidden in the middle of my bag plus my not valuable but useful plastic bags. They also stole 100$ to my friend!

Worst experience ever

You absolutely cannot get a better bang for your buck on Bui Vien.

Owned and operated by Ms.Vo, an incredibly lovely woman who must work at least 20 hours a day, this is in the best location if you want to stay in backpacker district, at the cheapest price, and for a great room.

She helped us sell our motorbike that we had driven from Hanoi, and runs the pharmacy (the entrance to the guesthouse, don't be confused when you get there) from sunrise til 11, so it's very secure.

Outside of her hospitality, the rooms here are top notch. Amazing location, incredibly clean, comfortable and cozy. Flatscreen TV, daily room cleaning, great shower etc. etc.

I wish we had found this place on our first night, because it was EASILY our best stay in Saigon and for the lowest price.

Even though you are in the heart of it all noise is not an issue (especially if you request a room that faces the back!)

Next time we are in HoChi Minh, we won't hesitate to stay anywhere else but here and I recommend you do the same!

Thank you Ms.Vo, we hope to see you again soon!!!
