Tremendous hostel with great facilities and thankfully no lifts across the two wings of the five storey building. The dorm room I stayed in was spacious and as clean as one could expect considering the other guests’ ฝรั่ง proclivities. The toilet cubicles are outfitted with super hygienic bum guns rather than just filthy loo roll which simply smears.
Lockers were big and secure although you will need to come prepared by bringing along your own secure padlock. The location is very good close to the nighttime food market location of a stall selling sticky rice with durian. And a vegan restaurant is located only twenty to thirty minutes away on foot. Vegan Heaven - highly recommended ! 😇😋

My friend and I have been travelling around Thailand for a few weeks but we've never had a worse customer service. Very rude and uninterested in their guests. We tried to contact the hostel beforehand because our flight arrived late in the evening but we never got a reply. In the end, they gave our room to someone else because we arrived 15 minutes after the checkout time, even though we texted them a week in advance. We never got our money back and even got yelled at because we weren't happy with the situation and talked to the staff about it. Not a nice experience and I will definitely not reccomend this. Otherwise there are very nice hostels somewehere alse in Chiang Mai.

When booking the price was extremely low, in life you get what you pay for....but not here...amazing hostel...amazing value and amazing service. I booked into here to get my head down before a visit to the elephant sanctuary and for the price paid it ticked all the right boxes. They were happy for me to just leave my stuff in the room until I returned (which was a good few hours beyond check out). I would strongly recommend for value, ease of stay and service.

I stayed in this hostel twice. The bedrooms are really spacious and the beds very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helps you with bookings, transfers and general questions. I would go back anytime. The location is great, just outside the north gate to the old town and the food they serve is good. I did not like the smell in the bathrooms but overall it was a great hostel to stay at.

Me u hostel

This is a fantastic Hostel and I would definitely stay there if I went back to Chiang Mai.
Good:
great price! We have stayed in both the 100 baht fan rooms and the 130baht AC rooms and both were great. The AC wasn't too cold like some Asian AC can be, but was cool enough. The fan room did get a bit hot however the one day that it was quite unbearable they turned the AC on for us until bed time for free as a kind gesture.

Staff- the staff are lovely and friendly and made you feel so welcome. On our first day we arrived at 7am having been on an overnight bus and even though we couldn't check into our room, they let us sleep in the common room on the couches.

Free water- there is a free tank of fresh (not tap) water and you can help yourself.

There is a fridge -you can ask them kindly to put stuff in, they do lick it over night but it is still kind. If you have left over food from any cooking classes you do, it is a nice touch.
Cleanliness- I have seriously struggled with Asia as I am easily bothered by germs and mess, and if you are working on a backpackers budget, it can be hard, however this place was so clean.

Booking travel and tours- we didn't book any tours with them but we spoke to people who had and they said it was really easy. We booked transport to Pai with them and it was easy and cheap.

Location - ok some people might disagree with me as it was a bit out of the old town and you had to walk for about 15/20 minutes to get to the main bit, but I thought it was perfect. You are on a road with about 7/8 other hostels so you make friends really easily, one night we had 13 of us from different hostels all going out together. It made things really easy. You are 30 second walk from Tesco Lotus and a 1 minute walk from 7eleven and if you can't be bothered to walk into town there are restaurants on the main road. One is a Thai/Chinese buffet 180baht for all you can eat and looked pretty decent and there is also a night market to get food at. The grilled pork was especially nice but they have such nice stuff.
There is a Jazz bar about 5 minutes away and the Sunday night Night Market (which is incredible and Massive) is only 5/10 minutes away walking.

Curtains- you have little curtains on your beds to keep things private if you want.

Improvement:
Plastic on beds- I am not going to mark down for this as it kind of eliminates the worry of bed bugs, but in the fan room, the beds were covered in plastic and then your sheets- it was slightly frustrating as the sheets would ping off in the night. The AC room we stayed in, in the building next door (there are two building for the same hostel) however did not have this but had more comfortable futon like mattresses that again were spotless.

Hard mattresses- in the fan room unfortunately the beds were really hard. However if you are working on a budget you will struggle to find any mattress in Thailand that isn't hard. So can't really hold it against the hostel.

No soap by sinks on upper floors - they only provide hand soap on their ground floor toilet that is open to anyone eating or chilling there, they do not have the same on any of the floors where people sleep. I got so annoyed with having to keep going to my bed and getting hand soap every time I went to the bathroom I actually bought a bar of soap, but as it had slightly broken, the maids had thrown it away to make it look nicer. I understand but having some kind of soap would be helpful and hygienic.

Noise- as with any hostel there can be noise and in the fan room you had to have to window open (with mosquito guard) or you would be too hot, but unfortunately you can hear every sound on that road (as i mentioned there are lots of hostels). If you can't deal with noise, don't sleep in any hostel full stop.

Overall - I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to any traveller.
Note: if you are getting a tuktuk from the bus station it should never cost more than 50 baht each in the red vans. On the way there we managed to get one for 30 but to be honest that was probably because we were alone and it was 6am. The moment that they see you are tourists the price goes up - they will try and say 250baht - do not listen to them.
