Very peaceful, warming atmosphere! 2 -bed dorms!! Cute small and clean room and bathroom, nice garden bar to chill out. Good coffee, friendly and helpful owners, nice area in Chiang Mai! :-) Can definately recommend it!
The room was small, as was the bathroom, but it was clean and comfortable.
The food and drinks are not cheap, but not expensive either. The front coffee shop has a great little area to sit, drink, chat and use the wifi, which is not great, but not bad either.
The location was very good, and you can get nice cheap food nearby.
The only issue we had was that we had to check out at 8am; which is not particularly early, but a little, I guess. And when we went to check out, no one was around. We waited for at least 40 mins for someone to arrive and no one did. Eventually we just left out key somewhere they would find it and left.
But would recommend for a cosy, short stay.
The rooms in this guest house are really nice, we had a great balcony, nice coffee place and great location but it was bitterly let down by being kept awake by the management staff and their friends sitting up late being really loud talking and shouting at the top of their voices. I had to get out of bed, get dressed and go down at midnight to ask them to either change my room to one of the quiet small ones with no balcony at the back or to keep it down. They were very apologetic and did keep the noise down after that but it really shouldn't have come to that, surely they should be the ones making sure it's quiet for their guests! There was no apology the next day either.
In addition the hot shower they'd promised me (I checked when we checked in) was luke warm if that and when they came to check it they admitted it was broken. I was offered one of the small rooms at the back but when he checked, that shower didn't have hot water either so I had to use the communal bathroom. No discount was offered for this.
The other bug bear for me was that they do not provide soap or toilet roll which is a really small thing but makes a big difference, I would expect this for 400 bht a night. CM Blue House was booked up but they give you all those things plus a fridge for 350!
In summary I'd say it's a really nice place but they don't seem that bothered about being a guest house unfortunately, they must be more focused on their coffee shop business. A few very small changes (hot shower, quiet management at night and toilet roll and soap) would make it excellent.
After reading the good reviews on T.A we decided to check this place out.
The main enterance to this place seems to be completely deserted and empty we were even unsure ourselves if it was even still being used as a guesthouse. Barely even a table in the huge lobby. We were shown a room with bathroom for 300 thb which we took as we knew there was little else around. But looking back I know you can get a lot more and have a much nicer experience for less money.
The room fit a large double bed with not much space to spare and a tiny shelf on the wall - no where really to put anything except on the floor. The bathroom was OK but could have been cleaner - no soap or toilet paper provided!!
The room was fairly clean but I did notice footprints on the wall?
As soon as the money was handed over and paper signed that seemed to be the end of our service! Finding someone in the deserted lobby to ask for the password for the wifi was virtually impossible we weren't sure who worked there and who didn't. When a man finally did appear he rudely told me the numbers and then walked away so fast that when it didn't work I was left there with nothing.
The one good thing about the place was the outdoor area / bar - which we were told opened at 6pm. When we arrived back to the hostel at 7pm and there was no sign of it opening we went and got a couple beers from a shop down the road and bought them back to sit outside. When the bar finally did open they ignored us completely and only spoke to us to get the money at the end of the night.
So overall this was not a good experience at all. Maybe they were havin an off day.... But we found them to be one minute fairly OK and the next very rude and unhelpful.
We came to the conclusion that possibly the people who normally ran this place and deserve the good reviews were either away or had left completely. Who knows, whatever the reason we were given no explanation whatsoever. Based on our experience here I would not recommend this place at all.. Keep walking down the road you will find much better service and feel way more welcome!!
Just around the corner from where we were staying, we went there twice for breakfast. Really cute spot, GREAT service and excellent value. Would likely book a room here if we come back to chiang mai
