We spent 3 nights at this fantastic Casa in the heart of old Trinidad and found Manuel, Jenny and all the staff there so welcoming and helpful despite our stay coinciding with the Coronavirus outbreak and all its uncertainty (and Manuel having to temporarily close once we left - as per government order for all Casa's). The courtyard garden and rooftop are beautiful (we even saw humming birds in the garden) and food was superb (best we had throughput out whole 2 weeks in Cuba). Our room was large, very clean and very comfortable. Thus, thoroughly recommend this Casa to anyone looking to stay in Trinidad (and we hope that Manuel can open up again once Coronavirus is over and tourists are allowed back to Cuba!).
We spend a very enjoyable 2 nights in this lovely peaceful Casa in the heart of Trinidad. Manuel and his family looked after us so well. The first night was my birthday and they prepared a tasty feast served in the magical courtyard by the fountain. The room was very comfortable and peaceful. The Casa is decorated in interesting paintings and antiques. The breakfasts were enormous! We would highly recommend that you stay here when visiting Trinidad
Casa Colonial el Patio exceeded our expectations. We were a little apprehensive with staying in a Casa, but this place was so charming and beautiful. It’s very clean and comfortable, staff are warm and welcoming. The owner is a wonderful host and very hospitable. He explained the history of the house that went back about 250 years and there were relics of old Trinidad surrounding the entry area. One of the highlights is the Spanish style courtyard that has been adorned with lush greenery and a central fountain that was a welcome environment in the heat of the day. Breakfast was one of the best we had in Cuba, was served to us just outside our room in the courtyard. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Cuba is one of the highlights of our travels so far.
Having spent a fantastic time at Manuel's unique and atmospheric casa in 2015, we returned as a group of three this time (we were two people on our first trip). Our previous stay was impeccable and I was wondering what, if anything, the team would have done to further develop the casa. I couldn't really think of anything that I felt needed improving but Manuel and team have done just that and it's even lovelier than I remember. From the welcome drink in the fantastic patio (after dark, it takes on a magical quality with the lighting that's been added) to being shown to your room. It was beautiful. Colonial style, beautiful and comfortable beds, fan and AC, TV, safe, good towels, reading materials in various languages etc. A wonderful base for exploring Trinidad and taking a rest in the beauty and calm. Manuel helped us organise our onward travel to Santa Clara and went above and beyond getting our bags where they needed to be (long story, suffice it to say we were very grateful). Each group of guests has there own table to eat a sumptuous breakfast at, it's spacious but should you wish to, there's plenty of opportunity for interaction. There are also hammocks for an afternoon snooze, maybe, and smaller terraces up the stairs from the patio. With the setting and the service from Manuel and team, you'll be so glad you chose Hostal Casa Colonial El Patio. My photo of the room has disappeared from my phone but there are fab photos on other reviews. Enjoy this casa!
We stayed 3 nights in la Casa Colonial El Patio: when we arrived, it was so beautiful that I thought I had made a mistake and I had booked in another place. The place is simply wonderful, you cannot imagine what you're about to see before you pass the door. the house is beautiful, very old style, and there's no word to describe the patio - just have look to the pictures, this is the most peaceful and romantic place in the world. The bedroom was just perfect, with beautiful decoration, with a direct door to the patio.
And beyond the beauty of the place, the staff is just so kind: they were super welcoming and made everything to ensure we were fine ! At a moment, me and my husband felt sick and they prepared for us specific care to help us recover and it worked ! I am so grateful for this because they saved the end of our vacation. The breakfast is awesome, with fruits, fresh juices, home made guava marmelade (so tasty!!), cheese, ham, eggs, bread, cookies... aftert these 3 days, We spent one night in a big hotel in Ancon and I was feeling so sad and it had no charm compared at El Patio. La casa is a few walk far from Plaza Mayor. I can just recommend this place, it's like a family. Thanks a lot to the wonderful time you offered to us !
