Sunset Paradise Villas was a beautiful gift to our mission team of 16 from Cedar Hill, TX. At the end of long days serving families affected by the recent earthquakes in Puerto Rico, we were blessed with coming home to a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, and clean place. The ocean views, colorful sunsets and starry night skies were spectacular!!! We stayed in the lower and upper units of villa 3. The apartments were very spacious, beautifully decorated and filled with quality furnishings. The massive outdoor living room on the balcony became our favorite spot for meals and nightly debrief meetings. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. When we first arrived both apartments were sparkling clean and nicely and cooled. The linens had such a great aroma we could tell they were freshly laundered. Plenty of clean bath and beach towels too. Great job Grizel! Our experience with Carlos, the maintenance man, was also lovely. Every time we requested something he responded immediately and was very kind and courteous. We requested use of the kayaks and had them at our villa the very next morning. Fresh towels— he quickly grabbed some more from a storage closet for us. We needed more propane to use the grill—it was there in 5 minutes. The remote control for the AC unit in one bedroom was not working but Carlos took care of it immediately. We accidentally clogged the kitchen sink, which caused a leak, but Carlos was there within a few minutes of our call to fix the problem and clean up the mess. Some of our missionary activities were cancelled our last Teo days there due to the Corona virus protocols established at the time. Carlos kindly stored our unused distributions inside a garage until our host church could come pick them up sometime after our departure. Very attentive and courteous staff! Charming, quiet and safe neighborhood too. We highly recommend Sunset Paradise Villas and hope to come back again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Rincon staying at Sunset Paradise Villas. We stayed in Villa 1 upper, a one bedroom that was more room than we needed but we managed to use it. The best part of the Villa is the covered porch on the ocean - easily 15 feet deep and over double that in one half, and probably 40' wide with an incomparable view of the ocean. The owners provide very comfortable outdoor furniture, very important since that is where we spent most of your time when at the Villa. The ocean is truly just below the porch and the soothing sound of the ocean is a constant.
The villa has all the usual amenities although to use the washer/dryer you need to walk over to another villa. Also, the infinity pool is a few villas down and up some steep stairs. The hot tub is conveniently adjacent to Villa 1 upper. Access to the ocean is just below and stairs take you down to a very shallow beach and immediately into the water. Strong tide.
Sunset Villas is south of Rincon proper but not too far, about 1 mile or so. You do need a car to get around. Walking to places from Sunset Paradise isn't easy. Sidewalks need improvement on the main road and we couldn't find cut through streets that didn't dead-end. Rincon is very relaxed in general and very informal so no need to pack dressy clothing unless you're inclined. Downtown Rincon has several terrific restaurants and going north of downtown there are yet more restaurants, the best beaches, and assorted beach activities. And again, more amazing views, oh, and whale watching!
We will return.
We returned to the Paradise Villas for a second year in March. We have stayed in Villa 4 lower and Villa 3 upper. Both are beautifully cared for and have magnificent views. We enjoyed the pool area on the upper level many afternoons and the sunsets are amazing. Both Villas have huge decks and the master bedrooms are on the ocean side. The sound of the waves lulls you to sleep.
Paradise Villas is centrally located for visits to many beaches and restaurants.
My wife and I really loved our Sunset Paradise Villa. We stayed in Villa 1 Upper. It has a nice open floor plan, the bedroom is comfortable, and the kitchen is well-stocked. Best of all, though is the balcony area. We spent hours on the hammock, the chairs, and the small dining table on the balcony. We grilled fish out there and had nice dinners with the waves crashing against the wall below us. Really not sure how you could have a better, private, seaside home than this.
The neighborhood is quiet and residential. We walked into Rincon center a few times, probably a 30 minute walk so maybe not for everybody. Other than that, we drove places. Grocery stores on the main highway are close enough to walk to.
We had no problems with the villa itself, but on one occasion we messed up the TV remote due to our own goof and the manager was there within 15 minutes to fix it for us. He was pleasant and capable and we so appreciated his responsiveness, even though it was not a fault of the villa at all.
We used the hot tub outside Villa 1 Upper and it is lovely to do that under the stars. We used the pool one time on the other villa roof and it, too, is lovely and a great place to relax.
If you want a seaside villa with lots of privacy and not is a big resort, Sunset Paradise is really perfect. I can still hear the waves hitting the rocks beneath the balcony. We would definitely return.
Our first stay was over Easter last year-2018, We stayed in Villa 4 lower unit right on the water! The moment I opened the doors to the patio and heard the waves crashing the break wall, I knew I was somewhere magical. This was a great time of year to stay as the climate was unbelievable and we were able to keep our doors open the entire week. The ocean breeze and the crashing waves at night was just what I needed for the best week of sleep I have ever had. The linen was amazing as well, like a fine wine being mated with your preferred course. We planned our next year’s stay before we left!
This year I was sad to hear that our Villa was rented for our stay in early March-2019, However, we had the opportunity to stay In Villa 3 upper-Whoa!! This place was even better! Again the ocean breaking and the wide-open doors at night, it is magical :) The kids loved bringing their gloves and using the baseball field during the day when it was not being used by the local youth teams-Baseball is huge here not to mention surfing! A coach stopped by and spent an hour with our kids for the love of the sport, which brings me to this. The people of Rincon are some of the nicest people you’ll come across and feeling safe comes easily. The management met with us multiple times to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. This hidden gem Is my new spot! Oh and I was fortunate to meet the owners this year and share a few cocktails on The upper floor pool, that's another hidden secret-A must see, and while you’re at it, do it at sunset…..Magical!!!!!
