Had a really lovely relaxing time at the hotel. The pool facilities were excellent, as were the lifeguards Koulla and Fani who were vigilant, friendly and welcoming. Hope to see them again next year! Also, try the fig, rocket and pomegranate salad, it was delicious!
The beach was clean and the water crystal clear. We had an amazing holiday at the Asterias, thank you!
We stayed at the Asterias Beach Hotel from 22nd August to 5th September and all I can say is it was perfect. We flew out to Cyprus during the COVID pandemic obviously nervous as to what to expect and whether it would be safe. All I can say is we felt safer in Cyprus than we do in the UK. This is partly down to how well the hotel managed the situation.
We arrived quite late on the 22nd, upon arrival we were greeted by two friendly staff who checked our large party of 11 in efficiently. Everything was closed in terms of food and drink however an ample selection of sandwiches, cake and fruit was left to keep us going until morning. We had 5 rooms and the hotel were kind enough to place us together on the same floor. Rooms were amazing, spacious and comfortable. Beds were super comfy. All rooms had air con and a mini fridge. Due to Covid, some facilities were taken out of the room like the kettle however reception were more than happy to bring one when requested.
The restaurant provided an excellent range of food to a high standard. Social distancing was observed and tables were set out 2 metres apart. Upon entering the restaurant to get food, you had to hand sanitise your hands and put gloves on before you can go in. Throughout the restaurant and the hotel, plenty of hand sanitiser was available to use. The staff within the restaurant were friendly and helpful and always went the extra mile for us. Antonis- the assistant maitre d’hotel and his boss even helped carry our grandparent’s plates. Always happy to help. Some other restaurant staff I would to recognise are Georgios, Maria and Dilyana. They were always so friendly. Dilyana also served us at our wedding and spoke to us everyday after. I really can’t fault the staff at all.
We used the pool around the side of the hotel most days which were cleaned and checked regularly. The life guards were friendly and did their job well. Koulla the life guard came and spoke to us everyday, waved at us as we walked past, and she even checked on the progress of our son learning to swim and gave him some tips! We visited Aphrodite pool bar everyday. During the course of our holiday, a lovely lady called Monika worked in there. Well, what can I say about Monika? Nothing was ever too much trouble for her and always had a laugh. She is super friendly and amazing with hotel guests. What a lovely lady.
There was different entertainment every night and a kids club during the day. Chico, the entertainment manager was full of life and really made us laugh everyday. But for us, Lindsay was the shining star of the entertainment. Lindsay took the time to get to know the children well and also get to know the adults. She made time out of her day to come say hello everyday. The kids even wanted to go to kids club to stay with Lindsay. She has made an impression on us all. She is fantastic at her job.
As we had our wedding at Asterias Beach, we have been in contact with the wedding manager Suzanne for some time. It was so refreshing to meet her. A truly talented lady, amazing at her job. So warm and friendly you can’t help but love her. She is an asset to the hotel.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Asterias Beach- the staff really make the atmosphere positive. It’s an amazing hotel, in a great location. Amazing views and a beautiful beach.
The worst part is coming home, counting down the days until we can return!
Our visit to this hotel amid virus epidemic was really nice. The epidemic precautions were really good, the staff was wearing masks all the time, they were disinfecting everything regularly, the critical lunch and dinner buffets were also safe and guests were asked to disinfect hands and wear gloves before taking food from the buffet.
The hotel was clean and rooms were nice, although a bit small. But we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. Hotel amenities are good. The staff is very friendly and the receptionists are very helpful (kudos to Ludmila). They gave us a quiet room per our request and also prolonged our check-out by some 1-2 hours for free as we had little children that needed to sleep a bit before departure to the airport.
We had the Premium All Inclusive which was a great deal. The food in hotel restaurants was really good. Premium AI is a great improvement if you want to also enjoy drinks. Some drinks (especially Mojito) are not included in standard AI. Also, Premium AI allows you to order drinks in Levels bar which is just next to the Beach.
I wrote the Beach with a capital letter because it is one of the nicest beaches I have seen. Due to the situation (Corona) the beach was half-empty which was nice.
The hotel has also several nice pools and is baby-friendly.
An overall nice hotel in Ayia Napa.
Staff very helpful and polite.
We had a room from the renovated area and was really nice, clean and spacious.
Pool area was fine and clean, on both of them. We used the one on the side, next to the kids pool.
The beach in front of the hotel, Makronisos Beach, was fantastic. There is a small archaeological site at the spot which you can visit.
Asterias is by far our favorite Beach Hotel in Ayia Napa and one of our favourites in the whole Cyprus. The reasons are: Location - Simplicity - Service.
We have stayed several times and always loved it.
My recommendation is to try to stay for at least 5 days and enjoy the beach life.
Asterias is located in the most beautiful beach of Ayia Napa, Makronissos. And even if Makronissos is such an amazing sandy beach, it's one of the less populated because it's a bit out of city centre. Crystal clear blue green waters and golden sand.
The hotel is a really beach front one with direct access to the beach. You can enjoy the whole day lying on a Beach bed enjoying drinks and snacks from the hotels beach bar.
Asterias is a big hotel with many rooms and many choices. It's an more than 30 years old building, that is recently renovated. The architects added an external metallic cell to protect the main building from heat and add more shadow to the rooms. The decoration is nice and you quickly feel comfortable and welcomed.
The rooms are nice and clean and the view from the sea view ones is fantastic.
The people working in the hotel are extremely polite and helpful.
The pool is nice with a nice view even if the beach is so beautiful that I don't see why someone should even consider swimming there.
Another great surprise is the hotel spa. A big indoor pool, steam room, sauna and jakuzzi. Many different treatments (Aromatotherapy, Indian Massage orThai Massage etc) in great prices. My wife and I enjoyed many their service several times and have always felt fantastic.
There are some sea view rooms with private pool and jacuzzi. Never stayed there but we will definitely try it sometimes.
Hotel prices are logical and for what you buy it's probably the best money spent in Ayia Napa. That's why the only problem is that the hotel is fully booked every year so try to book really early. Even months before your holidays. It's a great experience worth living.
