We stayed here one night on our C2C adventure. We were met with tea and delicious lemon cake. The room was large and tastefully decorated. The bed was the best I’ve had so far on this trip! A firm mattress and comfy linens. The breakfast was hot and delicious.

Stayed here following a long days walk, the welcome was pleasant from Jean & Brian. No offer of tea etc & boots had to e taken off outside in the rain, nowhere to lean/sit to take off.
Once shown to our twin room we quickly came to the conclusion that this place was all about maximising profit over comfort. The room was very small & squat, extremely small bathroom with no room for wash kit, few toiletries, lightbulb not working, shower poor just adequate really.
Kettle in room with one packet of biscuits (3), UHT milk.
Breakfast very poor, had to request toast & extra tea, sad really as host were pleasant but will not stay or recommend again, I will also be complaining to the company we booked with putting us in such poor accommodation, especially as alternatives were available.

I never ask people to take there boots off outside, I welcome you into your breakfast room/lounge where chairs are available and a dedicated area is provided for dirty boots with newspaper available to stuff inside your boots and a heater to dry all your wet clothing. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities and fresh milk is available in your fridge in the your breakfast room.A stool/table is in the en-suite for your wash bag and other shelves and surfaces are in abundance for your products. The shower is a top of the range mira shower and we regularly check and clean the shower head.As for a bulb not working these are also checked everyday as it is part of the cleaning process so it can only have gone out when you occupied the room Fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, porridge, full English breakfast or any combination is available.I am always entering the breakfast room to ask if you need more tea, toast coffee etc.I would have preferred you speaking to me directly then I am able to sort out your observations/complaints. I am beginning to wonder if you actually stayed at my accommodation!!!

The welcome here is warm and there are some very thoughtful touches and good attention to detail. The bathroom next to the twin room is large - little bit Dunelm Mill in style but nevertheless luxurious . Jean is an experienced B&B owner and understands the needs of walkers. There is a small lounge/breakfast room for guests with plenty of maps and local information. The breakfast was generous and, except for the bland bread and coffee, all good quality. We didnt order a packed lunch because the Joiners Shop in Ingleby Cross is a great venue for lunch. Next door there is the White Lion pub- open for dinner. It is not a great local - in fact the pub was the worst aspect of the stay in Danby Whisk and it would be good if alternative dinner arrangements could be made.

Bags of experience helping Coast to Coasters. Great en suite bedroom, breakfast and packed lunch. Friendly welcome and lots of support. Close to local pub for evening meal. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Stayed here on our C2C adventure. Jean is a very amiable and friendly host though there are issues. Whilst the ground floor room had all the usual facilities, tv, wi-fi en suite, it was not the best we have had. The double bed was tiny and the fitted bottom sheet did not fit. The shower suffered from lack of pressure so was also a disappointment. Breakfast was served at 8am and was good with choice of cereal, yoghurt fruit as well as bacon egg etc.
Danby Wiske is a popular stop over on the C2C and whilst Jean is very friendly, the accommodation needs some work to bring it up to the standard of others we have stayed in on the walk.
