Stayed at Tara Lodge for 3 nights with a family of 6, check in was fast and friendly with a bottle of wine we didn’t expect. The house was magnificent 4 large bedrooms beautifully furnished with the main room with en-suite , a 2nd bathroom was spacious and beautiful. Quality of the towels was very good, the lounge dining area was massive and also a lovely foyer to play board games, all beautifully furnished, the kitchen was very well designed and the benches were massive , this place could easily accommodate 8 guests . The spa was very nice and felt Clean you could stay in the spa for ages , kangaroos roaming around the large property which is dotted with about 7 other holiday houses of all sizes. We drive to the pool as we had elderly with us , pool could do with some shade, but the water was lovely and clean , the tennis was fun but we would recommend taking your own balls as they were a bit flat , the racquets were ok, they are free and in the pool shed , relaxing weekend you could drive to Forster and blackhead beach for a swim in ocean pools and Nabiac hotel provided a shuttle that picked you up at your front door and also drive you back at no charge , was a nice pub for dinner , property also had a well equipped laundry and lovely floor rugs ! Definitely worth a stay

We stayed in The Summer House and we loved every minute of it, we had a private tennis court, in-house spa bath, volley ball court, full kitchen facilities, TV and three bedrooms. Dom and Nick were amazing and looked after everything for us. The tranquillity and peace of the property was just amazing. Be sure to book in for Horse Riding before you head up. I would suggest it's a great place to just get away from it all and relax. Note, the turn off road from the free way is a dirt road and is approx. 7K's long so it may not be suited to sports cars.

We stayed in The Chapel for 3 blissful nights for our 17 year anniversary, did not want to leave. Looking forward to making this a yearly getaway. Highlights were laying on a picnic rug star gazing at night and our in room massages. Loved all the little touches in the cottage, oozes romance.

Those three words describe our stay at Clarendon Forest Retreat. We went to have a quite weekend gateway and we got exactly what we were looking for.

We stayed in the summerhouse which was fully equipped and maintained. It is set amidst nowhere :) with awesome view towards mountain and long spread of greenery around it, it was a treat to sit on the deck, drink wine, dine and do some barbeque. The main bedroom had a big comfy coaster bed and a wooden dining table which was giving an antique feel. Other bedrooms were also suitably equipped. The kitchen had all the essential equipment and crockery and whenever we cooked (we cooked a little) we never felt anything missing. The lofted lounge area was my kids favourite where he could play with his toys and watch his favourite cartoons. Particularly for my kid he loved the place considering he had ample place to run and play be it indoor and outside and offcourse he loved the spa and never wanted to come out of it.

If you can wake up early you can see some kangaroos/wallabies roaming around making it a perfect forest retreat. There is a dedicated tennis court and basket ball court, if you are sport enthusiast and a common pool too. Considering it was a bit hot outside we submerged ourselves in the spa and relaxed.
I would recommend this place.

Came here with my husband for a two night getaway , looking for something quiet and private rather than a resort style hotel. As we came mid week it fit the bill perfectly as we think we may have been the only guests here at the time, at least that is the illusion we were under staying in the Chapel. Bought all our food with us so there was no need to leave the place which is exactly what we intended. Roamed around the complex, walked down the deserted road and off into a few bush tracks, watched birds, some distant roos, enjoyed some wine laid on the grass and star gazed. No internet, didn't switch on a mobile phone or tv. Exactly what's needed to recharge the batteries. Couldn't quite master the oven , but the microwave sufficed, and the BBQ on the veranda did the trick. Nick and Dominique friendly and helpful. Nick volunteered to come look at the oven us straight away, but it wasn't necessary. The one thing I would recommend for light sleepers is to turn down the temperature of the spa overnight, as it is on the lower level of a split level dwelling without doors to separate from bedroom area. As it was SO quiet we kept waking up wondering what the gurgling noise was. But that was remedied by the second night. Most delightful.

Room Tip: The Chapel wouldn't be suitable for someone that struggles with stairs.
