This was without a doubt one of the biggest highlights of our 16 days trip to Sicily.
At Baglio San Nicola Agriturismo the employees and surroundings makes you feel at home. The old buildings are soulful and beautifully renovated, with great facilities. There is a cozy and romantic ambience that sets you at peace! My girlfriend and I are grateful having chosen to spend our agriturismo experience here. The staff was the most happy, personally invested and welcoming that we have had all of our vacation, and the greatest compliments to the waiter! She was really kind, invested and helpful and elevated the whole experience. The young chef mustered to make one of the greatest meals we've had on our journey. With an extraordinary choice and quality of local ingredients that were simple but perfectly executed, the dishes made you leave the table more than satisfied. (The tomato sauce was by far the most rich we have ever had and the pasta gave al dente a new understanding in perfection) And a grilled zuchinni that came from their own fields, which is beyond comparing ((AMAZING)) Also we bought three wines, where we have tasted one of them, which taste AMAZING. The waiter was so sweet to give us an olive oil for free, since they didn't have any packaged ones. Even though my girlfriend and I were the only guests staying the night, they didn't compromise the effort, not one bit, which I find impressive. For breakfast we got spoiled with an amazing breakfast (the images speak for themselves) Also the owner was present, to reassure that we enjoyed our stay, which we certainly did! I'm normally not much of a pool person, but I must say the pool area was really nice little oasis, aestetic and great for a cooldown. Also worth to note that it is a great location nearby The Valley of Temples and The Stairs of the Turks.
5/5 This stay is worth going to Agrigento for!! And to the employees and owner we thank you for the amazing experience! 😁
We stayed here because we wanted to see the Valley of the Temples but didn’t want to struggle with congested Agrigento. But we fell in love with the hotel once we arrived. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with thick stone walls that keep them very quiet. There wasn’t a bit of noise to bother us at night, even though the place was booked. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Martha, in particular, gave us all the information we needed about the area—and she has a great sense of humor, too! Although we were in the area to see antiquities, the pool at the hotel was quite a treat as well. We also ate two meals here, and we thought the food was very high quality. It’s traditional, rustic fare, and quite good—good value for the money, varied and interesting food, and an excellent wine list at reasonable prices. The Valley of the Temples is only 30 minutes away (the best way to go is to drive to Naro, take the SS576 down to the coast, and take the main coast road, which is SS115, from there). The agriturismo wasn’t hard to find, even though your GPS probably won’t locate it; if you get yourself on the SP12 a few kilometers east of Naro, just look for the big sign for C. di San Nicola and take that small side road 50 meters or so north to the hotel. This was an unexpectedly terrific experience, and I highly recommend it.
Having traveled extensively throughout Europe and other continents, Baglio San Nicola is the FIRST and only place where we were greeted with cool water...Marta, the host, was absolutely fantastic...she said...first water, then passports!!! We were shocked! It had been an extremely hot day touring and Marta knew what we needed the most!! I am sure you will agree, this speaks volumes!
The location is off the beaten path, which makes Baglio even more beautiful! We had a double room which was just fantastic...clean and comfortable with lovely views!
We spent the afternoon in the pool, which was big and luxurious... so relaxing! The dinner that evening was truly Sicilian...just amazing! The next morning we had an excellent breakfast with many choices.
Santo, the owner, and his family spent time getting to know us, truly making this stay memorable. I can't say enough about the exceptional hospitality...you are treated like family!
Our only regret is that we were only there one night! We will definitely be returning to Sicily and this true gem!!!
Beautiful location, extremely friendly and service minded staff (extra thanks to Giacomo) and the food was lovely. Nice and clean room with a great view. The pool area was good too. Absolutely worth a visit!
Like many visitors to Sicily, we wanted to see the Valley of the Temples, but traveling with 11 people ages 7 to 74, we also needed a place where people could stay back and just soak in the charm of southwestern Sicily. Baglio San Nicola was just the place. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable, the pool (salt water) is gorgeous, the dinners were exceptional, and most importantly, the host, Marta, is so welcoming and kind. We enjoyed our stay immensely and wish it could have been longer. Thank you so much!
