The grounds were immaculately maintained with a huge variety of plants and trees, which from the sounds of it made the plethora of birds mighty happy. The cabins were gorgeous. The craftsmanship of them was quite impressive with meticulous workmanship evident in every joint. Most cabins had a covered porch and were oriented to provide the maximum privacy and spectacular views. Most cabins had a fireplace and a provision of wood. We enjoyed a fire in the evening but failed to leave a window cracked open which caused our fireplace to smoke badly after we went to bed. We had a nice meal at the restaurant on site. Bring a jacket. It was quite chilly in the evening. The place is so unbelievably beautiful that I hate to say a bad work about the place but it was very cool in our room. The shower was hot but only for a very short time. None the less I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Cabins closer to the top of the mountain have a better view and are easier to get to and from.

I came here every morning I was in San Jose Del Pacifico, but I never actually stayed at their hostel. They have cabanas for rent but also have a hostel with 16 beds (100 pesos per bed). There are many places to stay in SJDP, and if you walk up the hill a bit you can find your own basic private room for 100 pesos. La Puesta Del Sol is definitely a good place to get an espresso or coffee and they have breakfast food that is more reminiscient of American/"Western" breakfast than Mexican if you miss comforts from home. They also have bus/camioneta tickets for sale at fair prices.

The town, San Jose del Pacifico, is a surprise, a peaceful magic beautiful place in the mountain area.
This charming hotel locates 1km away from the town center, looking over the endless mountains, pine trees and the ever-changing clouds. All cabins/rooms are surrounded by beautiful gardens.
They have a map of the locations of every cabin/room, we chose cabin No.3, which we believe has the best open view of the mountains and forests, but also it's the furthest one from the restaurant and the main road.
The room is very clean and spacious. Cleaners came everyday to clean the room. The fireplace is such a plus, made cool mountain nights warm and cozy like home. The staff would deliver the firewood everyday to the door, and he could set the fire for you if you have difficulty to do by yourself.
The included breakfast has lots of choice, or you can choose from additional menu with reasonable price.
You have to pay for the wifi, either for 1 hour(10pesos) or a full day(50pesos).
The 4 days' stay seemed too short for us...wish to stay there again!
