On arrival Andrea was so welcoming and showed us to our room, taking our suitcase himself. The rooms are high tech and of a minimalist style, but that suits us, and exceptionally clean. The breakfast has so much choice and a lot of it homemade by Andrea himself.Andrea was always friendly and very helpful about where to go, what to see, where to eat etc. He speaks excellent English too. Only criticism is where to plug the kettle in as could not reach the plug under the table so instead plugged it in in the bathroom. We will be back!
We arrived jet-lagged and hot and were greeted by our lovely host Andea, who recommended a great place for lunch. I wanted to write this review after the amazing shower but figured I should at least sleep here and try the breakfast first. The hotel is immaculate and very nicely appointed. The room minimalist and pristine, the bed comfy, the bathroom-well, that shower is amazing. Quiet, relaxing, and perfect. Breakfast was spectacular, and as others have mentioned, Andrea could be a chef if he wasn’t also a hotel owner! Lovely assortment of breads, frittata, fruits, cheeses and Italian specialties like roasted picked zucchini. Delicious! Hotel Aurora has a wonderful history, is close to everything, and a unique and lovely place. Andrea is helpful and has great advice for your travels around the area. All in all a wonderful experience. So happy to be here.
I went to Duino to visit friends and booked Hotel Aurora because of the location. What a delightful surprise to find this absolute gem of a hotel. Our room was simple in design but technologically advanced, the beds were extremely comfortable and our room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. But the best part was the hospitality from the owner Andrea and the wonderful breakfast selection he offered every morning. It was very nice to wake up and know you were in a lovely village on the Italian coast and would start the day with excellent coffee and a delicious breakfast. Exactly what you need in a B&B! I highly recommended this hotel if staying in the area.
I rarely write reviews, but this time it’s a must. We stayed one night at Hotel Aurora in Duino, on our way to Croatia. What a gem this place is. The rooms are nicely fitted and full with everything you might need and more. The bathroom amenities are of great quality and the entertainment is top class including sky and Netflix. What really makes this place is not the cleanliness (10 out of 10), it’s not the ambience (10 out of 10) and it’s not even the superb features of the room (10 out of 10).. what really makes this place is Andrea. One of the most gracious host we have ever met. From the great recommendation on how to get there, to the pleasant walk in the morning and even going the extra mile to accommodate our dietary requirements on a super short notice, Andrea really understand what great hospitality is and he is a true ambassador for a new wave of top quality Italian innkeepers! Highly recommend.
Lovely small hotel. Cleanliness second to none. Room modern and functional. Bathroom stylish. Air conditioning quiet and effective. Breakfasts were wonderful with a wide range of delicious home made breads and cakes plus fresh fruits and juice. Owner was very helpful and friendly. We stayed for a week as part of a wedding celebration for friends and the proprietor could not have been more helpful and accomodating. I would recommend it without hestitation.
