We attended a 50th birthday party at Golf Nation for a friend of ours and stayed the night at O Genet. Marie-Chantal our hostess was awesome and made sure our stay was nothing but fantastic. Our room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was scrumptious and we couldn't of asked for better. For us it's not if we return but when we return. Thank you for having us.
This was my first time at a bed and breakfast and it was one to remember. Our host Marie-Chantal was incredible and very accommodating. She set us up in the Campagnade room and told us of the amenities and the times for breakfast. We settled in and just loved the property. We walked around and looked at all her crops and asked if we could have a fire that night. Her husband set everything up for us and we had a great fire.
She also gave us excellent directions to the nearby forest for a hike as well as to a local restaurant.
We had breakfast there Sunday and Monday morning and it was truly a great breakfast. Local eggs, vegetables and fruit from her garden and grape juice. She also sells preserves that she makes herself and we bought a small jar of raspberry jam.
I'd definitely return to Ogenet and recommend it to everyone.
We stayed at this location in July 2018, as we were attending a wedding at the Bean Town Ranch. The location is perfect, as it is right next door to the ranch. To note: there is no direct path from the B&B to the ranch; you have to walk for a few minutes along the road. Both Marie-Chantal and Michel were very hospitable and welcoming.
The property is beautiful, with lots of outdoor space, and a firepit. The garden is lovely, and we were encouraged to walk around and see the veggies crops coming in. We saw some other guests enjoying the outdoor patio in the main building.
The bedroom we stayed in (La Campagnarde) was spacious and well-kept. The bed was super comfortable. The room has a private patio out the back door. The bathroom takes up about 1/3 of the room, and has a whirlpool tub and shower.
The room was in the second building, right next to the entrance/exit door. If you are a light sleeper, you might be woken easily by the door being closed by other guests as they come and go. I found that some guests shut the door quite forcefully, and it woke me a few times.
The true highlight of our stay was the breakfast. Marie-Chantal made us a delicious omelette with zucchini from their gardens, and white cheddar cheese (with fresh fruit and potatoes). There was local apple juice as well. The other options included a ham and cheese omelette, and French toast. It also looks like you can buy their home-made preserves, and produce from the garden.
I would highly recommend this location if you are in Plantagenet!
From the first conversation we had with Marie-Chantal we knew this was where we wanted to stay for our son's wedding at Bean Town ranch. The accommodations are wonderful, rooms are large and comfortable. Huge closet, comfortable common area. In-floor heating in the winter. Had a wonderful sleep each night. Breakfasts were yummy. Some of our relatives as well as other wedding guests stayed at the B&B. My sister's and nieces were coming to help with my hair and make-up. It was Marie-Chantal's pleasure to have us use the upper room for this purpose....provided us with a make-up mirror, extra plugs, etc. She and her husband live on site and are extremely accommodating. Feel free to contact us with any questions. We were very happy.
Marie and Michel are lovely people. There staff very professional. They are extremely accommodating. Rooms are beautiful. They cook amazing breakfasts that mostly consists of items from their garden. Coffee is ready every morning at 8:30. I would highly recommend this B&B . There is one large house with bedrooms and self contained bathrooms. Upstairs has the large dining area. There is a separate house that has two bedrooms one downstairs one upstairs
