Wasn't sure what to expect. The location is great - walking distance to Cancale - loads of good restaurants there to choose from. Along the beach or road depending on the tide - so great location.
Our house was a three bedroom one - lots of space really considering the property type and what it is for. A little tired in places. Bathrooms have no shower curtain - which makes showers interesting! Kitchen basic - not many utensils, but you manage
Pool area ok - great for little ones, teenagers had an ok time - but a bit small for them. Could do with somewhere to play football, badminton, tennis etc - really not much onsite
Quiet site considering the amount of houses - you are on top of your neighbours though - so not private if sitting out
We would stay again - as on route to ferry port if sailing from St Malo - so good location
Quite expensive for the facilities - but given the space and getting rooms for everyone - cheap against other properties
Wifi was ok - have to keep signing in, but was good enough - could be better for streaming, but kids survived!
Staff friendly
Shop reasonably priced - basics onsite and can order fresh bread and croissants for next day
Take away good also and reasonable

Even though there were only three of us we booked the 6 person chalet which was a good size. As you step in the front door there are bunk beds on the left with a shower and toilet on the right. My son slept here. You then open a door to step into the sitting/dining/kitchen room which is fine for 3 (2 adults and 1 13 year old). Myself and husband slept upstairs in the double room (there is also a third bedroom with two single beds) - Upstairs has a bathroom with bath/shower and separate toilet. As previously mentioned bring towels, shampoo, soap etc. All of this was spotless.
The place is clean and the pool is lovely. My son had the pool to himself when we arrived so he was in his element although we we went to check on him we had to walk through the pool as there was no access to open a gate and walk in where the sun loungers were. The receptionist Christine is a sweetheart and a pleasure to deal with - booking.com made a mess of our booking (I wanted to cancel one night and they cancelled both my nights) so I had to ring the resort direct and she sorted it out and it was cheaper to book directly with her. We were leaving early in the morning so we didn't eat on site as there was mention of a new restaurant there.
However:
The timber bed creaked everytime we moved in it and it had sharp corners
There was a stale sewage smell coming from the upstairs toilet (there is no window there for ventilation)
It would have been impossible to have a shower in the upstairs bathroom without soaking the floor as there was no shower curtain or panel whatsoever to stop the water pouring out when showering (needless to say we didn't use it but used the downstairs one).
The wifi wasn't much good and we couldn't get the English subtitles up on the TV so we watched it in French - just as well it was an action movie without much plot (The Kingsmen)
It was fine for a one night stop over but no more than that. I don't think it would cost a whole lot to supply towels and soap, a bath panel and sort out the smells - and maybe a new bed in chalet 136.

We had booked a 2-4 person cottage but were very disappointed when we arrived. Accomodation was tiny and the smell of the drains was strong. We paid an extra 125euro and upgraded to a 4-6person cottage. Our party was 2 adults a toddler and a baby. This house was bigger but i would not have like to have had 6people stay here. Starting with the positives. 2 out of the 3 bedrooms were good in size and beds were clean. Would not have liked to have stayed in room with bunk beds which were placed in entrance. Location is FAB!! Very close to st malo, aquarium, zoo, carrefour market and cancale port. All great visits. Our LG loved the pool!!
Negatives
No effort has been made to make the house a home from home. No pictures on walls, very bare like furniture has just been dropped in. Sofa's are very uncomfortable a few cushions would help. No oven. Bad Wifi and no TV. Reception only open to 7.30pm. No access to watch those on pool if you are not swimming yourself, have to walk through shallow water pool to get to side of pool. Overall accomodation was very very budget but clean. If you go with low expectations you will have a good stay. If a larger home would not have been available we would have not stayed and looked for alternative accomodation.

We first saw this on AirBnB and it looked nice - it is essentially a holiday village with c. 20-30 2 storey chalets based around a pool complex. We were late in booking and so availability was limited elsewhere so we took a deep breath and decided to book even though it was above our budget.

Rather an book through AirBnB in British pounds, I went direct to Le Village Cancalais website and booked there in Euros, and in the process saved a few hundred Euros. On arrival everything was very efficient and we were in a 6 person house. The houses were nice, clean and the kitchen was well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave/oven combi. Fairly eclectic set of kitchen equipment including oyster knife, nutrcacker for crabs and winkle picks. There were two toilets - one upstairs and one downstairs and 2 separate bathrooms. The layout downstairs was a bunk room with large shower and toilet and a kitchen/liivng/dining room. Upstairs was a large queen sized bed in one room and 2 single beds in the other, along with toilet/bath with shower above. Overall it was a nice house and suited us very well. Outside was a table and chairs on a deck with a sun umbrella and it was nice to sit here and read a book.

The pool area was perfect for the kids - it was a irregular shaped pool with indoor/outdoor birds, waterfalls, bubbly bits, bridges over it etc and the kids spent maybe 2-3 hours in there a day! There was also a very nice sauna and steam room in the pool area.

We visited Dinard market, Mont St Michel, St Malo, the aquarium etc and it was a perfect base. There is a bakery, supermarket and petrol station less than a mile away so it was very well situated.

Advice:

- we booked direct and not through AirBnB, as we saved money
- bedding is provided but not towels
- bring washing up liquid, diswasher tablets, cleaning cloths/scrubbers etc as this is not provided (message to management - would be nice if this could be provided!)
- there are no complimentary shampoos/toiletries provided, so make sure you have everything.
- there is no washing machine on site but reception takes clothes in to wash and brings them back the same day, washed and dried, if you take them in in the morning. If you take it in the afternoon, they bring it back to your house the next day.
- the 6 person house was fine for us, a family of 4, and gave us plenty of room. The 4 person houses look small.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke English. Most visitors were French but there was the odd English, Dutch and Belgian visitor. I would definitely stay here again and I gave it 4 and not 5 stars only because it would have been nice to have things like a scrubbing brush and complimentary dishwasher tablet/sachet of washing liquid or two. For short stays esepcially, you don't tend to being those things on holiday!

This is a good option for visiting the gorgeous Breton fishing village of Cancale but bear in the mind that it's a good kilometre or so from the port and further from the old town centre and there are no local amenities bar the gift shop of the Oyster Farm and museum down the hill from a convenient footpath that is opposite the village approach road. That said, we travelled by public transport which most people surely won't do (a slightly soulless Super U supermarket is five minutes' drive away).

Bus number 13 will take you from the nearby Terrelabouet stop into the village centre between September and June while the 8 will do the trick in July and August - the buses do not run on Sundays.

The chalet have coffee percolators, airers, a dishwasher and a microwave as well as a stove, fridge etc. The toilet in our flat was rather inconveniently positioned downstairs from the bathroom.

You will need dishwasher tablets and/or washing-up liquid, soap and cleaning cloths. Towels are available from the friendly owners.

The pool is great and better than we had expected - we had thought it would only be suitable for kids but it has deep sections while also being suitable for little ones. There is a slightly under powered sauna and a steam room that does get going occasionally. The gym is small but serviceable.

Overall, very much aimed at families and better value the more of you that are in your party.
