Everything was perfect at The Old School House. Stayed a couple of nights as a romantic getaway with my wife the kids being away. Carolyn and her partner made us feel at home, a welcoming, comfortable, happy home. It felt like visiting old friends you haven't seen in a while. All of this in a property that is a real gem, impeccably furnished by the lovely couple's many original imports from all over the world, original Victorian features and modern additions elegantly blended. We stayed in the Moroccan room - a wonderful, fluffy bed, large ensuite bathroom, gentle scent of oriental spices, nice views of the garden and leafy surroundings. All of this a ten minutes' walk from the city centre and river walks. Highly recommended and definitely our favourite place in Oxfordshire.

We couldn't have had a better stay, the Old School House is a beautiful property and the Morrocan room was lovely. Every detail had been carefully considered. The food was excellent and the hosts were very friendly.

Chose the Old School House to stay for 2 nights while visiting Wallingford for a friends surprise birthday party. Great choice, as Carolyn and Bill made us feel very much at home and part of the family! Gorgeous, sumptuous room (Moroccan) with super comfortable bed and lots of character. Ensuite was perfect too with plenty of space and very effective, modern shower cubicle.

Parking was bit tight, and required care in reversing out onto the road, but wasn't a drama! In any case Bill was a great host and offered to drive us to our party venue, which was totally unexpected but demonstrated the warmth this lovely couple exude. Breakfast in the conservatory was magnificent and set us up for the day - we especially liked the scrambled egg and sausages (and chipotle sauce). Bravo Bill! The house is set in a lovely garden, where Carolyn welcomed us with a refreshing cup of tea while we sat in warm sunshine, enjoying the tranquility of this sleepy corner of Oxfordshire. The Old School House is about 5 mins walk from the town centre. Wallingford is an attractive historic market town with a number of bars and restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets. We loved it.

All in all, we were both delighted with our choice of B&B, discovering this gem of a home and meeting such adorable hosts. Definitely be back in future!
