My son and I shared a room at this guesthouse on our visit to Iceland, and it was entirely what we hoped for. Comfortable, central location, attentive owner. We were perhaps lucky that the guesthouse wasn't full, so there was little noise, and we didn't really see anyone, although we knew there were other guests in the buildings. Price was good too. No fuss. Perfect.

Friend and I stayed here at the end of November.
The Guesthouse is adorable!
The kitchen facilities are more than adequate, bathroom small but does all it needs to.
Room (2nd floor) was quiet and warm and everything clean.
Pre-arrival communication was great.
Location near Hallgrimskirkja was excellent, near nice cafes and a straight run down to town centre.

Only negative is that, as with many guesthouses, staff weren't on site much, and not clear when they were going to be.
Signs up saying breakfast served from 7:30am but noone to be seen!
This made paying at the end a bit trickier than I would have liked but they were very understanding and resolved quickly.

I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here our first night in Iceland and are excited to return for our last. Our room was very cozy and warm. We were a little far from the bathroom, which was a floor below, but that was not a huge inconvenience. There are two bathrooms which is nice so that if someone is showering, there is not a backed-up line for the toilet. Breakfast had a nice selection. Good for the value!!!

This location is so convenient to everything. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. She walked me to my room which was in the next building. Everything was just perfect. There were multiple outlets in the room. The location was fantastic if you are able to walk. I covered also Old Town Reykjavik in one day with even time to eat and shop.

You could hear every noise from the main street but the property was diligent in providing ear plugs. But if you had been out all day, and you’re tired, the noise should not be a problem. If you have weak knees like me, the stairs may pose a problem, but it’s only about 7 steps one way.

We stayed for 4 nights. Our room was warm, clean and well equipped. We were given a room in the basement and the windows go straight to pavement level so it was noisy but we got used to that and slept okay after long days of sight seeing. We had a small bathroom just outside our room which again was perfect for use. We seemed to be the only ones using it. The room wasn’t cleaned/ bed wasn’t made/ sheets weren’t changed for the 4 days which we personally didn’t mind, but others might. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The communal area is lovely for sitting and having a coffee. We chose not to have breakfast included and enjoyed getting pastries from braud & Co down the road each morning. The location is perfect. Really short walks to the shopping streets, places to eat, bus stop 8 for sightseeing pickup- really glad we chose to stay here.
