This is not a Boutique hotel by any means. It’s just a bog-standard b&b. It’s on busy street and you can hear the cars rushing by. You can also hear people at the pool below, your neighbors above you and people sitting in dining room. Very noisy all round so don’t expect any quiet, peaceful books to rest. On a positive note, the staff are very friendly and the decor is pretty.
Great location! Staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating! Room was spacious, clean and well maintained. Close to various activities and restaurants. Nice pool and covered parking available. Would definitely come back.
What an ideal place to spend a romantic weekend. We enjoyed our stay at Sterling Manor from the golf cart pick in the secure car park, Greta's friendly welcome when we arrived to the very friendly staff, and of course Roland who was always ready to help.
We had the Presidential suite which was exceptional, large, airy with all the amities. The double shower and jacuzzi were excellent. Room was clean and well maintained and the bed very comfortable.
The views of the dam and mountains from the balcony are wonderful, allowing one to watch the activities on and around the lake and take in the prolific birdlife.
Sterling Manor is ideally situated to explore the various attractions in the area, such as the Lion Parks, Snake Park, water activities, African Markets etc. and numerous restaurants which cater for all.
Breakfast is included in the rate and served on a balcony over looking the dam. The fare is more than ample, with fruit, cereals, yogurts etc, as well as a full English cooked to your choice.
The hotel is set in well kept grounds, with sparkling pool and exquisitely decorated antique lounge/reading room on the top floor with even better views over the dam.
If there was one small issue was that the bar was not available in the evenings, as this would be a great spot to unwind after a day exploring the attractions around the dam.
Would recommend the Sterling Manor for a quite romantic weekend away from the city.
Everything was perfect. Room was clean, neat. Beautiful spa bath and complimentary bath salts to use in it. Beds were comfortable. The views were incredible. The hostess Gerda made us feel so welcome and so at home. There is a swimming pool for the summer months. The breakfast was delicious!
I had such a delightful stay at Stirling Manor and it was mostly due to the lovely people there! They are kind, attentive and helpful. Plus the guesthouse is AMAZING.
We had the pleasure of staying in two different rooms over the two night stay. The first was spacious but had a small bathroom with just a shower. It's spotlessly clean with a fridge, safe, coffee station, slippers and robe as well as insect repellent (ABSOLUTELY VITAL if you're planning on opening the door after sunset. We found out the hard way). It had a HUGE bed...very comfortable.
The second room; our favourite; has the MOST BEAUTIFUL bathroom. It has a double shower, bath/Jacuzzi (bath salts included) and a separate toilet. It also has a coffee maker which for a coffee fanatic like me was my favourite feature :)
The view is of the Dam and it's a great! It appeared that all the rooms have a similar view. The breakfast spread was always perfect and the beauty around is the cherry on top.
They have an pool but it's right by the entrance, so a tad bit awkward for me. The wifi only allows one device at a time to be logged on.
The Cable way is a few minutes drive away and there are a lot of other water activities close by. They will happily suggest restaurants for sinner and make your reservation.
Perfect hosts, perfect service so a perfect stay!
