Stopped here for 1 night and was really impressed with what we received from check in to check out, nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Room was lovely, shame no cups for hot drinks (I know it’s Covid, but other places give cups) and your toilet roll is really poor - does make the standard drop!

Bar service and food was excellent and could not fault the place.

Yes I agree, there is so many parts that need money spending on it, and I believe a new company has purchased such hotel - so no doubt this will come in time!

It needs to become a holiday resort, which incorporates the entertainment venue at the top of the drive and also the leisure complex, which is being left to ruin!

I’d happily return without a doubt, lovely grounds and professional staff

First appearances are beautiful, the Gardener works wonders, entrance hall is stunning, from there on it is lack lustre and tired. Paying extra for a 'mansion' room, was disappointing, they are in the attic, be that as it may they are large and airy. There is a lift, but the stairs make you earn your breakfast, I can't remember whether it was 50 or 60!

We had to move a family wedding here at short notice and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The venue is beautiful and the photographs look amazing. It was very convenient having all the guests staying in the main hotel so no one had to go outside. We ate in the dining room on the Friday night and the wedding was on the Saturday. Almost all the guests stayed both nights. The food was hot, well presented and tasty. The service at the evening reception was very attentive. All very reasonably priced. I had read the previous Tripadvsor reviews before attending and was a bit worried - but don't regret holding the wedding there at all. We will be back for future family celebrations.

Do t be fooled by the lovely pics, we had a room in the courtyard and as you pull up you can see broken window and it boarded up! Rooms so small you have to shimmy around bed, no where to put bags. Main hotel was freezing when we went for drinks, we sat in coats and they gave us the smallest electric heater which just managed to heat your ankles! Very disappointed that such lovely pictures to end up in what looks like 80s student digs

Hi Do you do room service for breakfast?
Oct 2015 |
Restaurant is down stairs. The Courtyard block rooms aren't big enough to eat in, unless you are both midgets and are eating on your bed.
