I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and it made me a new man. From the beginning till the end the staff was amazing! Anything you want or need is taken care of. Staff: 10/10 breakfast 11/10 (yes it was that good) room 10/10. We found our little getaway when we need rest. Special thanks to Benjamin. Very professional and nice. Thank you for everything.

Came in Sept for wedding anniversary and it was simply AMAZING
Staff were lovely, hotel was INCREDIBLE and Bruges is beautiful. Our room was fantastic and big. Couldn't have had a better few days. Definitely coming here again
We were the first British guests since Covid-19 quarantine was relaxed in the UK and were very impressed with Hotel van Cleef during our two night stay. It was clean and well organised and there are plenty of good-sized common areas for the number of guests so that it is easy to socially distance.
The service was low-key but first-class. The hotel has the feel of a Riad: where the staff are hosts rather than employees. Nothing was too much trouble. An example was booking restaurants - the hotel serves breakfast but not lunch or dinner, and the staff were always on hand to make recommendations and reservations for places to eat.
The location of the hotel is very good, 5-10 minutes' walk from the centre of Bruges, located on a quiet canal ideal for walks. It is also easy to drive to and has parking.
Our room, a suite, was pleasant and clean if on the small side: both the bedroom and lounge area which was up quite a steep narrow flight of stairs. But the bathroom was a good size with a large bath and separate shower. I suspect only a small minority of the rooms have a view of the canal and the views from the other rooms are plain.
The breakfasts are not cheap but are extremely civilised and served (there is no buffet) either on the terrace directly overlooking the canal or in the adjacent dining room. When the weather permits its use the terrace is a real selling point for this hotel, providing a very relaxing and tranquil sun trap.
My wife and I stayed here for three nights - our first trip to Bruges but it will not be our last. One of the reasons we enjoyed the trip so much was our welcome at this hotel. The room was spacious, well-appointed, comfortable and very attractively furnished. All the staff were both very friendly and very professional. They took time to ensure we had what we wanted, would always share their knowledge and take time to have a chat but never imposed. We were given some excellent recommendations for eating and things to do - all in all a model of how a high quality hotel should look and feel.
Hotel van Cleef is beautifully located in the quiet St. Anna's Quarter where there are fewer tourists but no lack of historic beauty and yet situated near excellent restaurants and museums. The staff is outstanding. They are friendly, gracious and ever-ready to help. I speak Dutch and I appreciated their eagerness to engage with me in that language rather than switch (as many elsewhere do) to my native English. When our room was not ready upon arrival they served us coffee and appetizers in one of their plush, cleverly designed public spaces and were always aware of our needs. Breakfast is excellent and extensive and with a chef available for personalized orders. The decor is ravishing and opulent and the rooms cozy and well appointed. We had a duplex suite with a canal view. The entire experience was sublime.
