This site has everything you need. Small shop. Staff so great!
Showers are 1CHF but.... these are the best camp showers I have ever used, so worth it. Brand new and like your bathroom at home. Hair dryers in shower.
Hotel is connected, with bar, restaurant, swimming pool (paid extra), again worth it, with spar functions in pool area. Sauna for all, but naked (also extra).
Lovely children's play area, with all sorts. Indoor room with games and facilities for campers.
And the surroundings are the best part, snow capped mountains, walks, cable cars, mountain bike trails. Village walking distance. Free busses also run outside site.
Hope to come back one day.
We have just came from a one week vacation with our 2 kids in Engelberg and we have loved our stay in Eienwaldli Sportshotel. Rooms are quite spacious, perfectly clean and with a super nice view of the Alps. The spa is amazing and in perfect shape always with an amazing view of the mountains from the inside. The sauna and wellness area are also great. The hotel is great for children thanks to the indoors swimming pool with toboggan and the play room on the 1st floor. Breakfast was rich and very good (the lady in charge knew our preferences after just the first day and was extremely nice). The stop for the free shuttle to Klostermattte and Titlis is right opposite the hotel. The restaurant (across the street) is also very good with different dining options (we had New Years Eve dinner at the restaurant and both the quality, quantity and overall atmosphere were very nice). The hotel has a very useful convenience store open until 21.30 every day as well as a room for guests skis and boots. Upon arrival our kids found 2 hotel teddy bears as a present and when we left they received a sweets pack that they loved. The staff in the hotel (reception, breakfast, restaurant, cafeteria, spa) is extremely nice and always tries to make your stay pleasant. Cars can be parked outside in a roof-covered parking without any cost.We will definitively come back to Eienwaldli if we have the chance to come back to Engelberg!
This place was the perfect place for a family vacation. The room was comfortable, right on the path of free shuttle bus to Mt.Titlis or Brunni cable car. Very friendly staff and the view from the room was simply great
We found this hotel on Tripdadvisor. We couldn't find any availability at any of the normal booking sites so we contacted the hotel directly and were able to book a room for one night. We were excited since the spa looked so nice online. When we arrived a little before 6pm we were informed that the kitchen was closed and that we would have to drive elsewhere for dinner. We went up to our room to look on Tripadvisor for local restaurants only to find that we had no internet service in the room. I went down to the front desk, the lady was very nice but seemed to assume I didn't know how wifi worked. I told her I could see wifi in the hallway, but no signal in the room. I went to get some luggage out of the car and when I got back to my room I found her in the hallway checking the signal. She assured me everything was now working. I checked, and there did seem to be a faint signal in the room, but at this point we decided to hit the spa for a little while before dinner so we didn't bother logging on. We headed to the spa, and were a little disappointed. Everything was nice and clean, but it was frankly a bit smaller than it had appeared online. Fortunately there wasn't much of a crowd (just a few folks in the sauna area, and literally nobody at the pool) so we had no trouble making use of the facilities. After an hour or so we headed back to the room, only to find we were unable to logon. The two usernames and passwords we'd been provided would not work at all. I went back to the front desk only to find that the receptionist had left for the night and there was no one available to assist us. This was before 8pm. We decided to try our luck in Engelberg and drove around for a while before we found a reasonable open restaurant. This was 11/30 and much in the area was closed. When got back to the room, we started playing around with different passwords using different room numbers, and finally found a combination that would let us log on. Signal was still weak, but at least we were able to make our plans for the next day. All in all the room was nice, the spa was OK, but while we were treated courteously, the service was ultimately lacking. It may have been due to us being there during off season, but it's something to be aware of.
We stayed here for 1 night while passing through the area. We used the Camping Card ACSI and paid about 19 euros for our motor home and 2 adults. We didn't receive the warmest of welcomes but the check in process was quick and the site is in a beautiful setting with warm & clean facilities. For the showers you will need 1 Swiss Franc for 4 mins of hot water. The shower area is unisex while the toilets and wash basins are single sex. There is a camping kitchen room available (adjacent to the washrooms) with a sink and 2 electric rings. This room also has a TV, large table, chairs and board games and books. In addition there are many washing up sinks available within the wash room block. Despite the sites size we had no issue with noise. We did not use the hotel bar, pool or restaurant. German is widely spoken. There appeared to be a local bus that called at the front of the hotel taking skiers off to the lifts, as we often saw people waiting at the bus stop.
We would definitely return.
