I liked this B&B at less than 30 min walk from the most important things to see. Price is ok as well as cleanliness. Only Italian breakfast and this is a plus. Room comfortable even if a little bit noisy.
One of the reasons we chose to stay in Villa Alle Rampe was for the secure parking, that at 8 euros a day was considerably cheaper than parking closer to the city centre. The hotel was a 20 min walk to the Ponte Vecchio along the River Orno. We had lovely weather so the walk was enjoyable.
Our room was a triple room with one double bed and a single bed for a 12 year old. The room was clean but basic. One issue was the noise coming from the street outside. There is a bar about 20 metres away and I suspect the noise was from people exiting the bar at closing time.
Christina was very helpful and made contact with us before we arrived to check what time we would be there and to confirm we wanted parking.
If you are looking for a basic base with cheap parking for a few nights in Florence I would recommend it.
The room was small for 4 persons. But we knew that before we booked. We stayed 4 nights and the towels and bed linen have been not changed.Thats costs 5 e extra.I think is too much. The breakfast was particularly okay and we had free parking place. The staff was friendly and helpful.
This is a B&B, but you better have GPS to find it because there is no one there to help you find it. It took us forever to locate the entrance since it is right in front of a traffic circle so Google maps couldn't pinpoint the location right.
The location is also a pretty far walk from central Florence, so get ready to take the bus (luckily this is within a few meters of the B&B). The room itself was fine, clean & with enough space for luggage.
They do have parking, but if your car is bigger than a fiat Panda I'm not sure how it would even fit thru the door. It's super tight.
Unfortunately, we were asked to check out at 10:30 instead of the 11am they claim & the request came at 10:25!! This is outrageous. They just kept knocking on the door because they were expecting the next guests. Also there is only someone there until 11am, so good luck if you need something later.
To the good, you'll find a clean room, working shower, a place to park (very important if driving to Florence), and free wi-fi that works well. The helper was pleasant, most accommodating and hard-working, but he is not present at all times. The location of items you might need was not altogether clear. Extra toilet paper is in a cabinet in the central hallway. We had enough soap for a few hours' stay. It was in a small pump bottle. But where do you put the soap in the shower? There's no soap dish or rack. And when your shower is finished, there's no hair dryer. You have to ask for plastic cups for drinking or for your toothbrush.
Breakfast needs great improvement. It is essentially carbs, and some of them were stale. There is milk and yogurt. It would be good to add some fresh croissants, not prepackaged in cellophane. It would be good to have some fresh fruit, too.
Breakfast is 8:30-10:30. Too bad if you like to eat earlier. You'd best be out of your room by 10:30, though, for otherwise it may not get cleaned.
One of our party is allergic to feathers, which were leaking from the duvet anyway, and we were glad the helper was there to give us a different one.
Villa alle rampe is walking distance from the center of Florence and readily accessible by car our taxi.
