Nice, clean room, modern bathroom. Old building in central Palermo close to the marina, but refurbished on the inside. Walking distance to everything, good tips from the owner. We had a great stay, and would happily recommend it to anyone. PS, be prepared to walk some stairs if you get the room on top floor (like we did).
My first experience with bed&breakfast type of staying turned out to be a very positive one. My room was light, clean and spacious, everything in the building is designed in a modern way. Although there were other guests in other rooms, my privacy was well respected. The breakfast is served in a nice room for all the guests and I especially enjoyed fresh croissants with jam and coffee! The host, Emanuele was very welcoming and gave great recommendations on the places to eat and have a drink, especially Frida restaurant for the best pizza in Palermo! I recommend to stay at Emanuele’s place to those who care about the safe area and good service. Many thanks!
Cala Peppa is located in the historic centre of Palermo with easy walking to the port, Via Roma, Via Vittorio Emanuel and Via Maqueda-Via Ruggero Settimo.
The B&B is modern, exceptionally clean large rooms that are well-maintained, good wi-fi and secure. The breakfast offerings provide guests with various options and coffee is make upon request You can even freshly squeeze your own juice.
Emanuele is a welcoming host providing great recommendations for dining and sight seeing. We were also privileged to meet Franco, Emanuele's Papa, who could not do enough for us to make us feel comfortable and at home.
The only drawback for some potential guests are the stairs. There is no lift. We were in the Orange Room on the first floor, so the stairs were not a major problem. However upper rooms and the breakfast room were accessible by even more steep steps. Despite the stairs, our stay was excellent and would recommend Cala Peppa.
We needed a transfer to the Port and Emanuele arranged Alessandro. Alessandro arrived early and provided an excellent fair priced transfer.
Emanuele (e Franco), complimenti e grazie mille.

A good location for exploring Palermo and enjoying the cuisine. Emanuele is most gracious and helpful in making guests comfortable. Communication is facilitated by Google translation. Rooms are well-maintained and sparkling clean. The bed is very comfortable. The Verde Room was quiet. Handsome shutters open to a view of the sky and the neighborhood, below. The building is secure.
Breakfast is served in a pleasant room. Fresh pastries, sliced cheese, fresh fruit, a boiled egg and coffee were my choices from an ample selection.
Many thanks for the excellent hospitality.
We stayed at Cala Peppa for 4 nights. We had a great room with a terrace. The rooms are cleverly color coded, our room was Blue. Contemporary decorated with blue bed cover and decorative pillows and lamp. Even our breakfast table in shared area had a blue runner. The owner, Emanuel, spent 45 min with us upon arrival sharing and marking on the map many good places to eat, list of local vine, directions to the supermarket and other valuable tips. Every day for breakfast we had amazing croissants (really amazing, and I’m not usually a fan of pastries in the morning), some cheese and salami, fruits and sereal I love tomatoes and olives with breakfast, so we just bought it in the store and brought it with us to breakfast. Coffee was good and Emanuel made sure we had enough packets to make some in afternoon as well. If we needed anything, we would send the message over the WhatsApp and Emanuel got back to us shortly.
To avoid any disappointments, one should realize that B&B rules are different than in hotel: for example, they change towels and bed sheets once in few days, which is fine as long as you know that. Also, the building doesn’t have an elevator.
Location is awesome, close to everything but not in tourist crowded area. I would definitely stay there again!
