We stayed here in May for 3 nights. This place is in the historic center of Aosta near the main city promenade. There was a king/queen size bed for adults and also a twin bed for a single person. This is the "apartment", as there are two other rooms in this b&b. The best description is there are three buildings around a large courtyard, and the room we had was enormous with a large galley kitchen and nice size bathroom. Probably you could stay one whole month if you wanted to. The room was very clean and beautiful vaulted ceiling. A cool but comfortable 70 degree consistently. The bed as nice and comfy. The mattress a smidge on the soft side, but I enjoy a firm mattress.
The galley kitchen has a sink, 4 burner cooktop(no oven or microwave), small refridge, and was provisioned with pots, coffee/expresso maker, dishes, and silverware. We could prepare a nice breakfast or lunch. With dinner, you would do well to go out to eat. Dinners in Aosta were reasonable, if you plan it right, you can have leftovers to take back to the apartment and re-heat the next night.
If you have an automobile, you will need to locate the free city parking as there is paid parking if you are not careful.
The owner provides wi-fi, however I experienced sporadic and spotty service throughout my stay. We were disconnected from the owner's wi-fi service 12 hours prior to stay ending. Possible that was an oversight, I didn't want to bother her about it.
We stayed here for 2 nights this week and found everything excellent. Gabriella was a great host and very helpful.
The room is very old-fashioned in a nice way, but spotlessly clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom and great shower.
Wifi worked perfectly, breakfast was very nice too.
Location near some parking but right in the pedestrian centre of the town was great and it was lovely and quiet too with the room on to a pretty courtyard.
Will definitely stay here again when we're in the area.
We had a wonderful stay (3 nights) and enjoyed the lovely courtyard. The owner speaks English and was very helpful with some of our travel problems. Thank you! Wi-fi only works in the couryard, but it was nice to be outside. The room was comfortable, clean, and we would definitely stay there again.
We came across this oasis by recommendation from another traveller on the via francigena. And we're so glad we did. We stayed in the self catering room which was stylish and very clean, it had everything we needed. Family run it is situated in the old city, but sitting in the pretty courtyard you are completely unaware of the bustling that surrounds you. Walking across Europe as we were we only had the luxury of stopping more than one night very rarely, I'm glad it was here. The "staff" we're very friendly and so helpful even offering to dry our hand washed clothes for us. Would I recommend staying here? Would I stay again? YES.
The B&B was a 15 minute walk from the station, and we were let in by Gabrielle’s mother-in-law, who has as much English as I do Italian (about three words!). She showed us the room and the breakfast room. Gabrielle popped in later to check all was well (her English is really good!), and she gave us a kettle so we could make our own cuppas. Breakfast was lovely, and well worth the 5 euros extra. Our room was quite large, with old wooden floorboards, some ancient wooden doors, and lovely decorating. There was a TV and wi-fi, and heating in both bedroom and bathroom. The en-suite was modern and clean, and the room opens onto a lovely sunny courtyard filled with cats and flowers. This was a lovely place to stay, and fantastic value for money.
