The hotel has a very impressive entrance lane. The room are good but not what you expect from a Schloss. The bed is comfortable but the rest of the room is furnished with second class furniture. The breakfast and restaurant are very good but expensive. Good for golfers but not when you intent to spend your time in the city.
It's the second time I stayed in that hotel. Its a nice 3 Star Hotel however as it's an old Castle there is no Elevator. If you get a room at the highest floor you have to climb up and down 100 stairs. With luggage you will be exhausted!. Nothing for old or handicapped people.
The staff is friendly and the breakfast of good German Quality
A very pleasant surprise. We were on our way from Copenhagen to Paris and stayed at the hotel mainly due to its proximity to the autobahn so did not expect much but it was wonderful. The main part of the hotel was surrounded by a moat and meadows and a golf course behind. beautiful trees and old buildings. Each room had a distinct decor but all in the main part had high ceilings, a lovely chandelier, comfort and a very modern bathroom. The ambiance was great and the dinner superb! first class staff.
Easy to find, but had to do a u turn instead of following the sat nav. It's just off the motorway and almost hidden by trees. Set in beautiful grounds with a golf course at the back and a moat round the castle. We also ate in the restaurant and can only describe it as a wonderful experience. We had a room at the back facing the Golf course and on our return at the end of the week we had the big room at the front above the main door. It's like staying in an art gallery.
My husband and stayed here on our way to the UK and just loved the hotel, wonderful staff, beautiful room with view over the park and the adjoining golf course. The hotel restaurant was one of the best we have ever visited, Michelin class. Superb!
The city of Muenster not far away and absolutely worth visiting. Beautiful architecture, lots of places to eat and shopping for all levels.
