We stayed for one night en route back home.
Great location, right in the centre. Parking (excellent) in the nearby underground car park - drop off luggage at the hotel and pick up parking discount card.
Reception on first floor - Laurence very helpful and chatty. Room small, but well appointed. Good wifi and aircon.
Breakfast €12.5 pp good.
Very well positioned for walking over the river to old Lyon and also walking into the modern centre with plenty of places to eat.
Bill for one night + 2 breakfasts + parking came to €160.
Will definitely stay again when next in Lyon.
I spent three weeks at the Hotel des Celestins and have nothing but good things to report, The proprietor, Laurence, is welcoming and always helpful. His staff are good humoured - as well as welcoming and helpful. Breakfasts are great. I felt immediately at home, my room was charming, clean and quiet. des Celestins is small enough to meet and talk with other guests, large enough to have all the facilities needed in a good hotel. The location is second-to-none, just a few minutes walk from Lyon's centre, from transport, the rivers Rhone and Saone. Laurence knows all and everything about Lyon and surrounds and is very helpful. Would definitely return.
Quaint, quirky hotel which makes a refreshing change from the faceless Best Western, Citadines etc. Fantastic location in the centre yet very quiet at night (above shops and not bars). I booked directly with the hôtel instead of Booking taking a commission in these difficult times for hotel owners and I encourage you to do the same!
Staff very friendly, room spotless and decent breakfast. Highly recommend and will use again.
This charming hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Lyon. We enjoyed strolling to historical sites, shopping areas, and restaurants. The Metro is conveniently close by. Our lovely suite was very comfortable, quiet, and artfully curated with books and collectibles. Breakfast was tasty and generous. The entire staff is friendly, efficient, extremely helpful and kind. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return in the near future!
We decided to celebrate the end of year and start the new year in Lyon, the capital of French gastronomy, and we chose this hotel located right in the middle between the two rivers: the Rhône and the Saône. It was a wise decision. We enjoyed our very quiet room, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast plentiful and good. Everyone was courteous and helpful. We will return and explore more. Rapport quality and price, one cannot go wrong, we highly recommend this hotel.
