Turned up unannounced and had a double room. It was clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced. The bathroom is functional, wall mounted hairdryer, toilet paper dispenser etc but everything worked and was clean. Would benefit from some new feather pillows perhaps, but I was happy. Half hour walk into town for a huge choice of eateries, I was offered dinner in the hotel. Small breakfast of coffee and 2 small pastries just enough for me. Free parking right outside.
I have stayed here multiple times over the last few years, both in winter and summer. Friendly manager and staff and an excellent value by Chamonix standards. Free parking and walking distance to town (15-20 minutes) in the warmer months. Comfortable common room with a small bar to hang out with friends. The yard outside is nice for families in the summer. A summer bicycle and winter cross country trail runs right by the house. The major ski lifts and the Aiguille du Midi cable car are just a short drive or bus ride away.
Lovely hotel clean and comfortable. Our room was a really good size with nice bedding. Considering how child it was outside the hotel was well heated. Tony was really helpful and breakfast was good. Draw back would be it is quite a walk to chamonix or anywhere else so you have to rely on buses.
Lovely place x
What a treasure as Arveyron is a little outside of Chamonix which is exactly what we were looking for. This wonderful family run hotel made us feel like family with their wonderful french hospitality. Our room was nice and had all of the amenities that we Americans like (and expect). Yes, we were even able to procure some ice! However, no A/C (hardly any hotels do so nothing unusual) but they provided a fan which really helped.
Besides the very helpful and friendly staff, our favorite part was the dining experience which is a must. We enjoyed the three course dinner and couldn't have been more delighted with the selection, quality and taste of our meals. Again, we felt like we were dining with family as most of the other guests were repeat ones.
We too, will be back and Hotel Arveyron will be our hotel of choice.
I have stayed at this hotel 4/5 times (can't recall exactly) now and this is my first review. Each visit has been at the end of January for skiing. It is located just down the valley from Les Praz but is too far to walk at night for a visit to Les Praz on foot. We always have a hire car so that's never been a problem. It is however in a quiet wooded location on the cross country ski route (probably a path in summer time) and near to the main road and local railway. Minimal noise from those though. There is a big car park with easy access from the road. It's a family run hotel and what I really like here is the friendly informal atmosphere, the good food for dinner (have eaten in several times) the decent varied breakfast and the lovely chalet style wood board interior. The bedrooms (also wood boarded) are good for this standard of hotel and it is always very clean. Beds are comfortable. There's a good Pool table in the basement. I've kept going back and will probably be there again next year. Seems like good value when you pay the bill.
