Our preference is for a quiet smoke-free room with a decent shower and a comfy bed. This we got and we have no complaints. Bordeaux is pricey and we felt we had great value as 4 Soeurs is right in the middle of town with everything we wanted on the doorstep. Jerome and his colleagues were all really friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast to set us up for the day although I imagine in peak season / summertime it might be a bit crowded and hot so you'd want to arrive early! However we enjoyed excellent coffee and a fine choice of cereal, croissants, bread, fruits and dairy. The lady on duty was very diligent at replenishing all the supplies and ensuring tables were cleaned immediately. We stayed 4 nights and would happily return. An excellent choice.
Easy to find, next to the Opera on a large square. Our room 42, overlooked that square and had a nice view. It was large, clean and comfortable. Excellent double glazing and sound-proofing ensured a very restful night. A good breakfast is available, but there are plenty of places close by if you want to go out. The location gives easy walking access to the city and the city life and the great Bordeaux tram system goes by the door.
My partner and I weighed the option of staying in a 4-5 star hotel (at $250-$350 more a night), but opted to choose location & savings as we were only in Bordeaux 2 nights & would spend little time at any hotel.
We booked the best accommodation available at the 4 Soeur. The room decor was simple, the room itself large and comfortable, and the view... spectacular!
The service from a young staff was helpful and friendly.
Overall, we were quite pleased with our decision!
This is one of those hotels you enter through a narrow reception, but then expands into a large property of about 5 floors. It's location, between Quinconces and Comedie, is amazing, and if information is needed, the tourist information office is about 15 seconds away!
Our room had been decorated nicely in the maroon/grey/white hotel colour scheme, with a relatively small but well equipped bathroom.
The only slight negative we found was that the breakfast room was noticeably warm and stuffy compared with the rest of the hotel. The air conditioning elsewhere did not seem to have reached this room. No complaints about the breakfast itself.
This reasonably priced hotel is situated in the heart of the city and is a great base for a short stay.
Our room was compact but perfectly clean and functional. It was at the back of the building so, although quite dark, it did mean it was very quiet.
Breakfast is as you might expect from a hotel of this type. The only negative was that the breakfast room was very hot and stuffy. It may be they had the heating on but it certainly made you not wish to linger over a second cup of coffee.
