Firstly booked through booking.com for 1 night for £47
So this place is cheap
The apartment was huge with 2 double rooms and an en-suite
But! It is tired - mismatched furniture grubby carpets, marks on walls etc etc
Cooker didn’t work and dishwasher was out of order
But for £47 I am not complaining
Professional communication with the reservation team via emails prior arrival. Very friendly and informative receptionist. Huge apartment, with all the equipments what you need.
Plenty of parking spaces on the street.
Restaurants and Asda 10 minutes walk away. Public transport also good to the city centre.
Only down side was the carpet in the living room. The dirtiest carpet what I evere seen in hotels ever. That's why my 3* rating.
Otherwise everything was perfect.
Apartment not ready when we arrived so allocated another one. Hole in bedroom wall, missing pictures, broken mirror in bedroom, stained carpet, light bulb not working, shampoo dispensers empty, broken toilet roll holder, wobbly toilet seat, mildew around windows, only 2 mugs, crumbs on kitchen drawer handles, no dressing table so struggled to dry hair, grubby chairs, very close to next block of apartments so had to keep curtains closed (net curtains needed), beds small and uncomfortable with duvet barely big enough, generally sparsely furnished and very disappointing.
It's a shame really as very spacious and could he nice but I suspect most of the apartments are long term lets so they don't buy any decent furniture but for a stay of 4 nights, not an acceptable standard at all.
Thoroughly enjoyed a weeks stay at the Grand Harbour after a bit of a shaky start.
I’ll get that out of the way.
Upon arrival I had to put the wardrobe doors back on their runners, the main bathroom sink’s plug mechanism was broken and stuck in place not allowing waste water out. The welcome booklet had a sticker on the front with WiFi password that didn’t work and there was a previous occupant’s empty cake box in the cupboard in the living room.
After speaking to reception they sent someone to sort the plug who said they’d return the following day but as far as we were aware they didn’t. We had the en-suite sink so managed fine, we found the correct WiFi password further in the welcome book so all was well.
The apartment was fantastic, modern, spacious, clean with fabulous views over the port to the Royal Yacht Brittania.
The beds were comfy, linen clean, towels provided, great shower and kitchen facilities too.
Our 10yr old son loved it that much he wanted us to move in permanently!
The apartments are on the No10 bus route that takes you right into the centre of the city to Princes Street with frequent return buses during the hour.
We used the apartment as a base to explore Stirling, Falkirk Wheel, Loch Lomond, South Queensferry etc as well as Edinburgh itself.
In close proximity you have an Asda literally 2 minutes drive and a Brewers Fayre as well as a more select restaurant with 5 minutes walk.
We were sorry to leave after a great stay in fabulous accommodation.
My family and I were a bit late and reception was closed but there is a fob system that you are able to get the key from. We were very impressed with our apartment which was right on the top floor with a fantastic view of the sea and the Royal Yacht Britannia. We had enormous windows with a door that opened in the summer when it was hot. The apartment was really clean, it had lovely wooden floors throughout and we had towels, some teabags, coffee, brown sauce satchels, a few milks, washing liquid, a dishwasher tablet and body gel supplied. In the apartment was a large corner sofa which you can turn into beds, a large tv which you can get Netflix on and you can also have a dvd for free from reception. The apartment is large and it has a hair dryer, dishwasher, washing machine, a microwave and everything you would require in the kitchen. There are plenty of heaters in the apartment and it is beautifully warm. There were two bathrooms, one with a bath, the en-suite with a shower. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, a Brewers Fayre and a seafood restaurant plus many more. You can get a number 10 bus every ten minutes and apparently they operate 24 hours into and back from Edinburgh. The only thing I would like to change is that the beds were a hard so bed toppers could be put on, I do not like very soft feather pillows or duvets but that is an individual preference so I would bring my own pillows. Our electricity cut off in the morning and we went to the reception to tell them and in the evening when we returned it was on. The apartment needs a little touching up here and there with wear and tear from other occupants. We would definitely return and felt it was terrific value for money.
