I last stayed here in December 2016 , I thought as I had a night out in Cardiff and needed a place to stay I would try the hotel again. The staff are fine , no issues with them at all. In fact they are a credit to the establishment and the check in and out was really easy. The breakfast was nice enough and you can't fault the location at all, The room itself was small , the single bed in an alcove so not much space at all. The shower had little pressure and it took ages to warm up yo a decent temperature. It did it's job for one night and I only saw one room so I may be doing the hotel a disservice. I would stay again as it's convenience outweighs the negatives. There is no lift and a lot of stairs so be warned.

Hi Mike, Thank you for a very balanced review. I totally understand your comments. We have three single rooms in total and just one of them has the bed in an alcove. We try to ensure we price it correctly and the fact that you would stay again hopefully means we do. If booking again please request a larger room and we shall do our best to accommodate you. Kind regards, Simon

Mould was found all over the hotel room. In the corners of the bedroom, by the window and around the bathtub. The TV was faulty then the manager admitted he had no idea how to fix the tv. Then after changing it to a new tv he admitted the new tv in the room is not secure and could fall off the wall if touched. There is water stain marks down the wall of the bedroom and bathroom.

I am so sorry Dafydd that you have not enjoyed your stay or my service. I agree the TV was faulty and also that I could not fix it. It has been sent to a local engineer to see if a repair is possible. The new TV was fitted to the wall bracket but could be lifted off easily as I did not have the right tool to tighten the nuts on each side of the bracket. Perfectly safe it is just that if you wanted to you could have lifted it off the bracket and I obviously did not want you to do this. This was all done around 7.00pm and as quickly as possible and the last bit completed the next day. I am so sorry this has offended you so much and regret that you will not be retuning to my hotel. I thought I did my best and also offered you a different room but you declined it. Again I send you my sincerest apologies. Kind regards, Simon

If you are one for nightlife then this is the place to stay - just be aware that it does get rather noisy when the bars/pubs/clubs start closing in the early hours. The bed was comfortable and the temperature inside was perfect for the time of the year. The only downfall was the cleanliness of the room, mainly the bathroom.

Do not stay at this hotel ! I paid a stupid amount to stay here for one night - the worst hotel I stayed in and the price did not even include breakfast ! The bathroom is very dangerous. Very out dated and old fashioned . Old style shower that is controlled by the taps but the shower is fixed to the wall so you can only adjust it when u are stood under it!! The shower glass does not work and the bathroom floor gets flooded . The room was cold and we had to use towels as draft excluders under the doors . The price I paid was over double there usual price I have discovered and that was through booking.com who I complained too - they sent emails to the hotel who have not replied - what a surprise . I expect they are in undated with complaints. There was a private party on the night we stayed . Our room was directly above the speakers which finished at 1am- surely they should had put someone who was attending the party in that room . We could not even hear the tv! Reception staff were inattentive.

I am really sorry to read of your disappointing stay Sarah. I will have a look at the shower after your advice. I am surprised you felt the room was cold as the heaters do warm the room up and as they are controlled by the guest you can have it as hot as you would like. I agree that we should have checked if guests were going to be out late before putting them in a room above a Christmas function. I feel it is unfair to say we must be inundated with complaints when our score on this site is 4 out of 5 and 8.3 out of 10 on the site you booked with. I promise that I have not had one e-mail sent by the booking site. You can see from this site that I am very responsive. I totally understand your grievance about not receiving a reply and therefore venting your anger on this website. I am sure if this was handled better you would have been satisfied. Therefore I apologise that I have not seen your e-mails but would be really grateful if you could send them to me at sandringhamsales@gmail.com Kind regards, Simon

Five friends stayed here for a couple of days in November. The reception and the lowest rooms are on the first floor, which are reached by a climb up the stairs as there is no lift in this hotel. This is a budget hotel where although the rooms and beds are clean there are no frills. The room I stayed in did not have heating in the bathroom, but there was plenty of hot water for a shower.
The location was good, right on the main street, a short walk from the station, however this meant that it could be noise and although we were there on a Wednesday and Thursday night we were woken both nights by noisy revelers, in the early hours of the morning.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was tasty and well prepared. there was the added bonus of free entry into the Jazz Club downstairs which we enjoyed.
