Had a fabulous stay.
Lovely warm welcome on arrival and then up to my amazing suite, wow, beautifully appointed.
Then I had to dash into the city for a bit.
On my return the staff at Holborn dining/MaCallan Manor looked after me and my guests beautifully. The outdoor terrace was stunning and the food and service perfect. My guests said they enjoyed it so much that they would be returning with other friends.
Had the best nights sleep in a long time, those beds are wonderful.
The hotel was immaculate throughout.
I was sad to have to leave in the morning but will be back again soon!!
We stayed at the hotel for one night in May 2021, the hotel itself is stunning and the staff are super polite. We had food and drinks at the outside bar and everything was excellent. (The truffle fries are delicious)
We booked a standard room and we were offered an upgrade on arrival (which we declined as the price was “just £500 on top of what you have paid”)
The standard room is basic and does not feel like a 5 star hotel (compared to a standard room at where we normally stay in London at the Corinthia).
The room got incredibly warm at night but the air con was too loud to leave on - we did ask if it was possible to open the window but the only way to do this would be to send someone from maintenance with a ladder (it was late at night and we didn’t want to disturb other guests)
The cups in the room were paper (I thought this was due to covid but the coffee cups were made of glass)
It was just missing small touches like this and overall luxury that we receive at other 5 star hotels.
Maybe we should have taken a suite but it was just a last minute stay over.
We will definitely come back to the bar/restaurant as we LOVED that and cannot fault but we probably won’t stay over in a standard room again
Stunning listed building. Great location. Immaculately kept. Our suite was huge and provided excellent facilities for both business (study, high speed WiFi, living and dining area) and leisure (very comfortable bed, whirlpool bath, steam room shower, in room sunken dining room and luxury living area with bar - extra). Overlooking the courtyard, Butler 24/7, beautifully decorated and excellent food. Highly recommend
Off to a great start as our room was ready in the morning (10am) knowing we were arriving on an early flight.
Service from all staff at all times was polite, engaging (dare I say fun) and thorough but not intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble.
Bathroom was voted best yet by the other half and the room was comfortable with great blackout blinds for that much needed lie in!! Breakfast at The Holborn was very good, with the Bloody Mary's aiding recovery.
All in all, just a great hotel and enjoyable stay. Just make sure you book the bar in the current climate. There was a suggestion you would be accommodated as a resident, unfortunately this wasn't the case.
You will also need to travel as holborn is not what I would consider a central base, but generally 15-20 minutes away from most things. This should not dissuade you, the hotel was epic.
Amazing hotel, attentive staff. They looked after us well, as you would expect. In room dining delightful. We travelled with our three year old, all of the staff made a massive fuss of him. Lovely time. We'll be back for sure.
