A very big thank you once again to National and La Tours. We visited La Tours in Nov last year and enjoyed it so much we decided to return in Feb. Once again we could not fault a thing friendly curteous staff (especially Marcus) not once did they stop smiling no matter how busy they were.(and they were) The food was good throughout. The room we had was large extremely clean a little dated but so what you only sleep there. The La Tours is very central for everything so we shopped until we dropped. We managed a trip to Fleetwood and also Cleveley then returned to a lovely tasty 3 course meal. We ve enjoyed our second visit as much as our first and definately will return Unfortunately the only slight downfall on this visit were the crude loudmouthed party from Wolverhampton who thought they were the unpaid entertainment. The professional entertainers were second to none Apart from the embarrassing guests Ive mentiined we could not fault our stay. Once again this is a positive review. Thank you all for a fantastic weekend break See you soon. Paula & Carole SUNDERLAND X
Before I start this review I always state in my reviews it's not meant to tell anyone whether to attend or not but simply my opinion. However, this may be the first time I break my rule! This hotel is appalling! Got given as a Xmas present so looked forward to a weekend in Blackpool for the first time in a while. National Holidays must be seriously scraping the barrel to use this hotel! Arrived at 2.30 pm after 7 hrs journey due to vehicle breakdown and were given room 3. Opened door to a room about 10 ft square with a double bed two side tables and a drawer set with a hand basin in it! Worse still was a loud droning noise eminating from a large pipe outside window. Immediately went to reception who informed me it was extractor fan and would only be on whilst kitchen were cooking evening meal (5pm -6pm) Ok I thought not to bad as we would be out exploring. So back to room, where do I start?! No headboard on bed, no bulb in one lamp, bird poo on windows, cracked and broken drawers, worst cheap mattress ever on bed, very poor quality sealant around basin (looked like a child had done it) radio alarm clock wire not connected and hanging from wall, stains on ceiling, dirty shower and poor fittings, looked like they had painted around a radiator then removed it and left the patch and finally windows nailed shut! It was a disaster. Reported a few of these as thought would be quick fix. Nothing changed. Food was so poor first night so never had another meal and chose to eat out. 7am each morning after AWFUL night extractor cranks up and stays on until well after 9am. Went to bar first night and barman/dj spent 10 mins trying to work out what a pint glass was! As you may guess we went out for rest of stay. Leaving the hotel was a risk as all the smokers stood or sat just outside it at top of stairs. The cleaners came on Saturday and all they did was pull the quilt up on the bed, and they got that wrong! To be fair the staff were friendly and did try their best. I have pictures which I will add but this hotel is certainly suffering from the disease of having too many hotels in an area that struggles to maintain its income. In January most places are shut so it looks like a ghost town. I would hesitate to guess the La Tour is only in existence due to National Holidays but it seriously needs investment but it will certainly not get anymore of my hard earned cash. You have been warned!
Hotel stay for 3 nights.
Linen clean but all features of bedrooms and bathroom worn out. The room on top floor had no central heating but had electric heater. The hotel needs a handy man in for a few weeks to stock the furniture together and do some basic repairs.
Breakfast basic but fine
Evening dinner okay generally but one night odd selections.
Would not avoid going back as staff nice and entertainment good but rooms need TLC urgently.
We’ve stayed at this hotel 10 yrs for new year break ,this year was the worst ever ,dirty rooms ,dinning room like a works canteen no table clothes all the 3 days ,not even mew years eve ,the poor staff who may I say worked hard were run ragged ,no chef New Year’s Day morning apparently that’s happened before ,buffet on New Year’s Eve lovely but there was no plates to put it on or cutlery,I cud go on and on ,won’t be goin back quite sad really as we’ve had some good new year breaks in there
Got to hotel and no record of booking. Had to wait 2 hours for them to clean room. Bearing in mind check out is 10. Got in room at 4. Floors creaky. Glad was on top floor because I wouldn't want to listen to noise above me. Bed 2 singles together. Quilt was put in material cover, no buttons or poppers so ended up on floor out of cover. Radiator did not come on dispuite being winter. Had to stand on a chair to shut window. Walls that thin could hear next doors telly word perfect and everytime they went for a wee and each plop, not ideal. Was not told where to sit for dinner, went down to full room wandering around picking bits of paper up to find room number, went back up to reception and asked, told table number only to go back down and someone else there. Never ate there in 2 nights was there but by reviews didn't miss anything. Was on floor 3 and could hear music from bar until after 2am. Imagine noise on first floor. Realy doesn't need to be so loud. Seats right outside door for smokers, if like me you dont smoke you got to wait until they move unless you want to be auditioning for stars in eyes with all smoke. Never again would I go to this joke of a hotel
