Just arrived home after 2 nights at the New Osborne hotel.
1st the positives
Man we spoke to (not at check in) was really friendly
Now the negatives
Booked a room with interconnecting door to the second room, arrived at 10am, couldn't check in till 3, not a problem as we wanted to get straight out, met the owner he seemed ok, reception area was very grubby, just looked derelict, dirty hand prints on the doors, I didnt hold out much hope for the room!! When we went back to the guest house at 5, I was gutted, the rooms were a dump, bed broken, dirty windows, everything was just neglected, bedding was clean, which was a pleasant suprise judging by the state of the room, bathroom was grotty! The whole hotel is just grotty, no bar area as advertised, if my children had been younger I would have come home, such a shame as this hotel is in a prime location, how this place won four in a bed, I have no idea!! This hotel is still advertising the rooms as they were in 2015 when the won the programme, really deceiving, the outside was littered with cigarette ends, no ashtray for people to dispose of them, this guest house could be fab in the right hands! Wouldn’t stay here again
We recently stayed her family of 5, plenty of room, owner very friendly, the only problem we ouls fault was shower wasnt powerful other than that we had a lovely stay and hopefully will be returning in the near future
No Lift and No parking and the info is not highly visible to Customers in the search. Furnishings and cleanliness needs a lot to improve. Compared to Travelodge just next door this Room is no value for the money. Breakfast is limited.
First off - this was a cheap deal. Very cheap but having looked at the photos and New Osborne Website versus what we arrived to then we were misled. It seems some rooms are refurbished but the family rooms are manky.
There was no free parking (one space for a hotel), no Wifi working, no bar, no food, dirty mattresses - we asked for an extra quilt and were told we had enough, dribbly shower, heating didn't work - electric heater just about heated the side of the cheap single wardrobe but not the room. No one emptied the bins or came into the room on Day 2.
Plenty of better places to stay when you take into account we paid 25 quid for parking and wanted to enjoy the residents lounge/bar etc we expected.
Brilliant location for South Pier and Pleasure Beach.
Me and my family (2 young children age 3 and 2months) stayed here last week and what a state the hotel is.
The hotel was sold to us as :
*family entertainment - this was monopoly and connect four hidden on a table.
*free parking - no where to be seen
*Bar - this has now been taken out of the shabby dining area
*Wifi - did not work
*Family friendly - cold atmosphere, not welcoming at all
* flat screen TVs in room - only 1 Chanel worked on the tv which was the size of an iPhone!
Absolute false advertising on their website and I would strongly advise ANYONE who is looking to stay here to look else where! So overpriced, so scruffy and NOT a warming environment AT all!
Bins were not emptied and with two youngest was not hygienic.
Beds had questionable stains on.
Carpet stunk and again had questionable stains.
Coffee/tea was out of date.
Wardrobe was like a coffin
Overall the place is dated, run down and dirty
Breakfast was not pleasant either!
The owners should be ashamed that they are charging that much for a room living off their “four in a bed”
Update your website!! Stop charging a fortune and revamp your hotel.’it’s vile !
Please look through my photos which is a true picture of the place
