We arrived at the famed Cabot Resort with high expectations. These were quickly dashed. You pull into the parking lot and nobody to greet you. You look around to see where to go. You make you way to check in. Then informed at a resort you are paying in excess of $550 a night that their main dining room is closed for the season!! You can dine at the Bar or the Public House. Wow... thrilling. Not what the clientele they are trying to attract expect. There are also zero amenities for the price. No pool, no gym, no spa.

They do have lovely views from the rooms and the sunset is something else. Nice bath products. Room was clean but small.

If looking for a true luxury golf resort in Nova Scotia that non golfers can enjoy, head to Fox Harb’r. You will not be disappointed. It is my hope that Cabot will build on their resort to improve the experience of their non golfing guests.

Travelled recently to take advantage of a special rate as this is a very expensive resort to stay and golf at. The golf is first rate and this hotel caters to the golfers. The courses rate in the top 100 courses and the views are wonderful. We had a king bed with a balcony room in front of first tee. The room was ok but not worth the price in my opinion. The balcony door's screen was broken. I expected more amenities for non golfers..no spa, gym or pool. on the plus side, the staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. The Cabot bar was a good place to eat with lovely views. All in all, very nice place but not worth the $.

Our recent two night stay was simply fantastic. Room (King room) was excellent. Located with a balcony off the first tee it was a great way to start and end each day. Large bathroom and shower area with a very generous soaking tub. Bed was extremely comfortable. We ate at all meals on site and they were outstanding as well. Very high end and deserving of its stellar reputations!!

Cannot tell you how disappointed we were with this hotel. Check in was 3pm and we still didn’t have a room at 5:30. We were traveling with a group and had a planned offsite event that we needed to catch a bus at 530 for. We were not able to change before this event. Obviously we were disappointed. But it got worse. They promised to call us once they found us a room but they didn’t ever call us. By midnight we were starting to plan to sleep on our friends floor and called the reception to see if we could get some extra pillows. We were then told that they now had a room for us. Their excuse was that they were understaffed. This is supposed to be a world class destination but I have been treated better and with more professionalism in hotels in third world counties I have visited. We never had a manager address our concerns.

Thank you for providing your feedback! First and foremost, we are very sorry to hear that you experienced this during your recent stay with us. We take all feedback very seriously to ensure that we are providing a better quality of service in future stays. It was disappointing to read that your check in was delayed past our guaranteed check in time of 3pm and that there was a lack of communication with our team of when your room had become available. While it is certainly a busy time here at Cabot, a guaranteed check-in time is a guaranteed check in time, and we should have done a better job in managing that for you and the rest of the members in your group. More specifically, we will be reviewing our overall arrival experience with the Front Desk & Housekeeping teams to build better communication processes with our guests and ensure that our standards are being met so that things like this do not happen in the future. We apologize again for the impression this has left with you. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance as we would love an opportunity to speak with you in further detail about this situation. We do hope you will choose to stay with us again, as we would love the opportunity to make this up to you on a future visit. Best regards, Andrew

This has to be the most upscale place for accommodations on Cape Breton Island. Room was very simple with clean lines - very nice and had everything we required. Our room was located on the ground floor overlooking the first tee with a nice ocean view. I think we may have been the only couple there not golfing - it really is just a very nice golf resort.

Answer from Beth M

Hi there, For stays longer than one night, a deposit of two nights (exclusive of taxes) per room will be processed at the time of booking. This deposit is fully refundable if the reservations are cancelled 30 days prior to arrival. For one night stays, a deposit of one night will be taken. For tee times if you are staying at the resort: For all golf bookings and associated services, there is no advance deposit required at time of booking. We will require 24-hours advance notice for cancellations. Any tee times or caddie bookings cancelled within the 24-hour period will be charged to your guest account at full rate. For tee times If you are staying elsewhere: Although there is no deposit required at the time of booking we require 72 hours advance notice for cancellations. Any tee times cancelled within the 72 hour period will be subject to a fee equal to all green fees cancelled within 72 hours of play. We hope this answers your question! If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out! Best, Andrew
