Trailer camped here several nights prior to end of season. Only about 20% occupied so very quiet! Trees were shedding their golden leaves that subsequently swirled on the ground with the breezes. Very relaxing. This resort is along the shallow and gentle Red Deer River. There are shore areas to bring a lawn chair and sit and enjoy the river flow. Kayakers and canoeists launch their craft at the nearby Bleriot Ferry and drift to the campground. Due to covid, the resort store was not stocked. The showers and washrooms were clean but very dated and should be renovated. Shower tokens were in short supply! The pool was open and clean but not used. We hope to return next year.
We booked at this RV campground to utilize the amenities they have listed, especially the pool. We called the day before our stay to see if we had to book space in the pool, because of the COVID situation. They informed us that their pool failed its water test, and the pool would be closed during the one night we had booked for. We asked for a refund, as we had basically only booked here for the pool, so the kids could get a break from travelling in the truck. They informed us that their policy was to not refund any of the nightly stay price. We tried to convince them that they should refund our stay, because their amenities were not what were listed on their site, and only charge us an administration fee, but they held firm on their policy and would not give us a refund. We ended up staying at a different campground and didn't even bother staying there, and instead spent our money and time at a campground that actually cared about making us feel valued.
We came camping here last year and our 6 year old has been begging to go back ever since. This year we invited another family to join us and they all enjoyed it as much as we did. The pool is great. It has a deep end that's actually deep. The river is RIGHT there. It's great for swimming and fishing! The bathrooms are clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly. The kids all had a blast. It's close to the museum, go-karts, and the town of drumheller itself is just a short drive away. Twice I have stayed here, and it has been awesome both times!
This is a very nice place to go. A great pool. Very large spot. Close to so much. Well shaded for the most part. Lots of room. Their Covid response is excellent. The dog run is nice to have, but could be bigger.
I booked this vacation over a month in advance. When I called I requested a washroom close to the bathroom. Since we do not have a bathroom in our tiny little trailer.
I know Covid is messing with a lot of things. But once we got there we were next to two bathrooms But once we got there we were next to two bathrooms. One that is closed for “staff only” because of Covid. And one that closed when the pool closed at 8. It’s stormed so that that one actually closed at six with the pool.
So The only washroom that we could use that was 24 hours was on the other side of the big huge campground. We have three small children and no bathroom in our trailer.
The next morning I went to the office right at nine when they opened. I asked to move or for a refund. The guy said we are full and I had to wait till the manager came in at 11.
So we went for breakfast and checked out the go carts. We got back to the campground at 11:45 and talk to the manager.
She informed us that we could not get a refund because checkout is actually at 11 and it’s 1145....... when I explained I was there at nine she didn’t care. she said actually we have a campground site that just opened a bit closer.
I explained that I would have to pack everything up and take my gazebo down and we actually just want to leave now.....she said no...no refund. She said We have to bleach all the sites after you leave so that is work for us.
weird that they bleach the sites down but our table had ketchup on it when we arrived....? I said OK well I’ll talk my husband I know he doesn’t want to move....Because I’m kind of a pushover and don’t like confrontation because I’m kind of a pushover and don’t like confrontation. I went outside and got my husband and we came inside the manager disappeared to leave us to talk to the teenage worker. So we left and got a hotel in a nearby town since Drumheller was full!!! ☹️. We travel a lot and have been to many campgrounds. Very dissatisfied. I get that Covid has messed with a lot of things. But I specifically asked about washrooms when I booked!!!!!!!!
