Overall, we enjoyed our stay but this hotel needs to do some major upgrade/maintenance in its infrastructure. The lift ride (to go to the beach) was not working and is in very poor condition so one has to walk up and down a long flight of stairs to go the beach (if you choose a hilltop room) and the room we were in required maintenance on more than one occasion so they had to move us to another room. The other drawback is in dining choices as there is only one restaurant and one is very limited to what may be available on the menu. With all that said, the entire staff is professional and very helpful and they do their best to make your stay comfortable.

Just got home from a supposed to be 1 day trip from Tugawe that got extended to 3 days in San Jose. We we're not familiar with the place, so we we're suprised when leaving from the port local informed us that we can't pass due to flood on the street. Mind you there is no other road out from Talisay port. We thought that the water will subside after an hour but it rained and rained instead of water receeding the water rose. No signal typhoon or whatsoever just a freak rainstorm. We had to check in at Port Alfred for 2 days. So bear that in mind, when booking this place.

Its also true that the boat ride to Talisay port to Tugawe took 2 long hours. I feel that the protocol on social distancing is just for a show, as we are all seated (crammed) on the boat. You also have to ride a 4x4 along with other guests to the resort. What they didn't describe was it sort of risky with the road slippery going up and down on the hill. The staff are courteous and polite. Our room smells musty. There are small cockroaches scurrying from the room to the toilet. The guest book has cockroaches poop all over it. Food is okay although pricey. The view is beautiful overlooking the sea. However, paying 16K plus 1,500 each for boat transfer is exorbitantly ripped off. There's no deluxe feeling going up and down those steps (our calf muscles still sore just by traipsing those step). There's nothing 4 star in this resort.

Stayed here for 3D2N last October with three of my friends and we all agree this is almost perfect!

We got a package from Deal Grocer for a hilltop villa for 4 people for 3days and 2 nights for a discounted price of PhP 10,000++ which is pretty good.

We arrived in Caramoan a bit late, around 3pm and were fetched by a speed boat, yey! The resort is about 10-15 mins away from the port. This resort lies in a cove thus the name and we were in awe after seeing the beauty of the place.

We were assigned a butler and given snacks and drinks while we signed papers regarding our stay.

Be prepared to walk up 200 steps to get to the top of the resort where the hilltop villa is situated, as well as the infinity pool and the restaurant. Our villa was halfway the 200 steps since the hilltop one was not available during that time. No problem with me.

Our room was very nice. We had two double beds plus 2 pull out beds, a patio, air conditioning, flat screen tv, a nice bath with rain shower and of course the butler!

Food was moderately priced and can be taken to your villa if asked. Breakfast is not included in the package but we already expected this and we were ready.

The restaurant was nice since you have a great view. The infinity pool was beautiful! However, it needs maintenance and hopefully the make a few renovations with the tiling. The view from the pool is still great though so no complaints.

Package came with all activities available in the resort so we bummed in their beach, went kayaking and swam all throughout our time there. Because we had such fun, we did not bother to go island-hopping haha!

On our last night there was a mini concert so we had great entertainment while having a few drinks. We went home on our 3rd date on a speed boat again and though there were moments of rain, the trip was an unforgettable one. :)

Note: a tram is available to take you up the steps to the top but electricity is not always up so don't count on it! There are lakeside accommodations available if you're lazy.

upon reaching this resort, our assigned butler nilda did not welcome/entertain us, rather she was enthusiastic with other guests. she nver smiles most of the time i see her frowning, not even a trace of friendliness nor a sense of top notch service this resorts boasts of. She doesn't really attend to our needs, we have to ask her again and again. Watta a butler! Our island hopping was cancelled due to storm and there's really nothing much to do there. I wonder why people post that this resort has excellent service when we never really experienced it at all. From
the manager down to the crew. It was a total disappointment. We had difficulty with d knobs/locks in our room and nilda helped but not without frowning first. The water in the room is yellow, and had a salty rustic smell. U hve to climb more or less a hundred steps to get to the resto & pool w/c is really tiring. The place is not child & pwd & oldies-friendly. Lights were too dim at night so u will hve difficulty tracing ur steps wen going up & down d stairs. All in all this resort is too pricey for the crappy service that we got after spending a hefty amount for a 5 days stay. Definitely not worth it!

We were in Tugawe 2 years ago. I can say that we are a well travelled couple (me, 38 countires, and my husband, 44 countries) and this resort is one place that we will always go back to.
Even before we arrived in Manila, Ms. Col and I had been communicating already regarding the whole package. She informed us about everything that will take place during our visit in their resort. They even suggested options on how to fly to the nearest airport (which didn't have a bearing because we bought our plane tickets already). How long the boat ride would take etc. Now, because we don't have a local bank and we don't use paypal, we had a problem sending them the payment prior to our arrival. I thought they would turn us down due to this money payment thing but instead, they just told us to pay the manager on site, Mr. Herzon, once we are in the resort.
Our flight from Manila was so delayed (3-4 hours) that I thought we would miss our boat ride from Talisay port to Tugawe. I was texting Ms. Col the whole time stressing that they wait for us. In return, all she did was calm me down and assured me that the boat will be there waiting for us. And yes, they patiently did.
Yes, the boat ride was rough (due to tropical depression that week) and long (that's what you pay for exclusivity) but we never had a problem with that. We actually enjoyed the boat ride taking pictures of just about everything.
When we got to the resort, we were met by Mr. Herzon and Nilda, our personal butler. We were given drinks and sitted in the dining area near the beach shore. Just imagine, there was a tropical depression and it was raining like crazy. But still, excellent service was given. They were so concerned about us not getting wet while they just ran around trying to make sure all our needs were met. We were served late lunch. Food was really great. Chef Edsel cooked really good local Filipino foods for us. I am a chef by profession and still, I appreciated the food that was served to me.
Our room is spacious with great views of the inside lake and the ocean. We were just not able to enjoy the balcony due to the tropical depression. We loved the room. Slept well, watched TV, shower with strong pressure.
The package included the island hopping. It was great. Enjoyed every bit of it. But the highlight was the boat ride during the night to see the bioluminescent planktons. They even shut down the lights near the beach area so we can play with the planktons on the shore. It was really fun.
The resort was still under construction when we were there but honestly, I don't remember being disturbed by that.
We really had a great time. The staff was so amazing even to the point of making sure we get back to Lagazpi City safely via Virac. Due to the tropical depression, we cannot make it to Talisay port in time to catch a ride that will take us to Naga City.
I highly recommend this place. We can't wait to be back :)
