We have been renting 404C for seven years twice a year. Mykonos is uncrowded, gated and very safe. I love that it is close to downtown, the Marina, great restaurants and Costco. The El Wine Shoppe is the place to go for great coffee and Piccolo our favorite Mexican red wine. Go to VBRO for Surfers Paradise 404C a one bedroom on the Sea of Cortez. Great views of the fire works from the Palmilla.
What an Amazing condo. One of the best owners I've dealt with in a while. Her responsive is A-1 from start to end of our trip. Ellen, truly has thought of everything from suggesting places to walk to or sights to visit. Her décor of the condo was comfy and had just about everything you could possibly need. The views of the ocean is priceless, you could hear the ocean waves, watch the sunrise, or enjoy the cozy décor, just relaxing on the biggest balcony giving you access from your bedroom or the living room absolutely was amazing. The grounds were well kept. The pool area clean and quite. We didn't rent a car however, we will on our next trip in November for shopping and sightseeing. Thank you again for a awesome experience. We surely will be returning vacationers'
The property itself I would rate as a 5. However overall a 3 rating. Located directly on a nice beach, the pools and grounds are very well kept. The unit being Building B, the top floor Penthouse condo unit is very large, a 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom and is a well laid out design. The unit has been renovated however the bathrooms have not. Overall the unit as shown in pictures and is nice except for the bathrooms. The bathrooms need to be updated as they are in need of a refresh to look clean. The bathrooms are part of a septic system and all 3 couples had complaints that the bathrooms smelled at various times likely from the trap and the septic system. The other issue to be aware of for any of the 3 buildings in this complex is that there is major construction going on right beside it causing plenty of noise when you are by the pool or on the balcony. If you go down to the beach you won't hear the noise. The owner was excellent, very nice and very responsive to any questions or concerns. The other point to note is the condo buildings are very close to the road and traffic noise can also be loud at times. There is lots of construction going on in Los Cabo however I'm sure certain properties would be a better choice if trying to avoid this. If considering Los Cabo be sure to ask the question about construction near by.
I chose this condo because it was located right next to a surf break called Zippers. Most of the resorts in this area have 2 sides, 1 side facing the nearly empty Sea of Cortez and the other side facing, not a road, but a HIGHWAY. Do your research to make sure you are not in a unit facing the highway. I was in Unit B, Condo 404, which was facing the sea.
It's only from the bathroom that you can hear the cars on the highway. Otherwise, the property was nearly empty of tenants and very quiet and peaceful. Beaches are mostly empty as the sea is not for swimming in the area. The space is nicely appointed with a large sofa, flat panel TV, beautiful views of the sea from the living room and kitchen. The condo comes with the full amenities including a new dishwasher and a washer/dryer. It also has central air (which is really important for 100 degree days). At that time, one of the pools was working, the other pool and hot tub were still in repair, and the owner let me know in advance of this.
The owner, Ling, goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay. Not only is she patient with answering any questions, but she also sends along an email with attachments of maps of the area, restaurant suggestions, renting a car and about the location. The property manager, Peter, was already waiting there when I arrived. He can show you where to dispose of garbage, recycling, etc...His girlfriend made a welcome package with brownies and packets of cappuccino mix. :) I was surprised there were only 2 rolls of toilet paper (for 8 days) and no paper towels. By the next morning, Ling had arranged for Peter to provide those for me. She also followed up during my stay to ensure I was happy and comfortable with everything. I've had great rentals and not so great rentals before, 404B was a great rental with a very caring owner. It was as Ling felt responsible for ensuring I had a great vacation. I was there to surf, so the location was ideal, as it's located in front of Zippers.
There is construction work around the property. Since it's so hot during the day, I had the windows closed and the construction work caused minimal, if any, disruption. There is a small bodega within walking distance of the resort. Getting to the large grocery store, Mega, is best reached by taxi (arranged by the security guard ~$7) or walking along the beach (20 minutes). Walking on the road to Mega, is at best, terrifying as there is only a small shoulder to walk on, and cars and trucks barrel down the road at high speeds. At this time, the exchange rate was 18 pesos = $1, taxis wanted USD, so I'd recommend bringing small bills if you plan on using a lot of taxis.
If you are looking for a location within walking distance to bars and restaurants, I suggest you rent a car or look elsewhere. If you're looking to surf and want a quiet secluded place, you should be very happy here.
We booked this condo for 10 days for our family Thanksgiving trip. Michelle the owner reassured me several times that the condo would be up and running for our trip. She explained to me that another booking would be there before us so everything would be in order after the hurricane.
We put our luggage in the condo and stocked up at the grocery store.
When we returned we noticed how there were no window treatments at all. Poor lighting everywhere. Dust on the ceiling fans and hangers. Possessions cramped in the closets and drawers of the second bedroom. A giant SHOPVac in the master closet.
My husband and son locked themselves out on the balcony and could not open the new slider.
No hot water.
When we woke up in the morning it was so bright from no window treatments that we actually had to put our sunglasses on.
I told the owner we wanted our money back and we moved to a hotel which was way more expensive and had to get two rooms. We couldn't use our groceries.
When I asked for our money back I was promptly told that would be arranged and she hung up.
We were given a refund minus the processing fee and the Insurance money I paid. I asked for that to be refunded to no avail. We were never offered and any other accommodations.
We were told they knew the condo was not in any condition to be rented out. This was a complete nightmare.
