Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The rooms are all very well done with everything you need, we have a 7 month old baby so it was fantastic to have our own kitchen facilities to prepare things for the baby, plenty of room for a travel cot and everything you need is all provided.
We stayed there with friends for two nights, everyone was very happy and comfortable and so relaxed the hosts. Both Dave and Claire did a great job at making us all feel very welcome and made us feel at home even with our children.
Would definitely recommend to anyone who'd like to visit Wales, it's in a perfect location with plenty of things to do for families close by and plenty of places to eat.
A special thanks to Clare for firstly creating such beautiful studios/en suite rooms, and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Secondly for providing my son with a room that he could be self sufficient in, comfortable and safe whilst on placement at the local hospital. My son stayed at the studios for nearly 16 weeks from January to September and loved being there. The rooms were spotless, modern, bright and with a small modern kitchen area he could cook his evening meals, well warm up a ready meal ! They had all the comforts of home, plenty of wardrobe space, table and chairs, large bed, tv and modern bathroom. Clare was always on hand to sort out or help with anything needed and always goes above and beyond. Would I recommend this as a place to stay - a very big YES from what my son has said and photos of the rooms he has shown me - a bit envious of my son as I would love to stay there
Thank you Clare for looking after my son whilst he stayed with you and the kindness you showed him, he was touched by the leaving gifts 😊 oh and I recommend the Glenthorne Valleys Honey👍
We had the pleasure of staying here for two nights during a recent visit with friends in the area. Our suite was beautifully decorated and Clare has absolutely thought of everything that a guest could need- down to ear plugs ( not that you would need them because it is quiet). You will be welcomed with delicious Welch cakes and the owners and staff make you feel "at home". The fact that there is a washer/dryer in the suite is a plus if you are staying for a while, or are on a longer trip. Although check-in is after four, our friends called and were allowed to drop our bags off early, after they met us at the train station. This was truly the nicest place we stayed during our trip to Ireland, Wales and England!
Studios at Glenthorne and the individual room make a good base to explore the Brecon Beacons as well as a good business travel accommodation. The rooms are stylishly furnished and comfortable. The owner Claire is very attentive to queries. The studios with mini kitchenettes allowing modest catering (microwaveable food and light snacks) is priceless. There is ample street parking nearby. The studios are a short drive away from a retail park with eateries and a supermarket. The owners also have local restaurant suggestions. Highly recommended and I would gladly come back to stay here.
I am writing this review on behalf of my son who is currently staying during the week over the next month, followed by 2 weeks before Easter, 2 weeks in May and also booked 8 weeks in July/August. As a Uni student on hospital place he has been made to feel very welcome. He said it is an amazing place, the studios have everything he needs to feel home from home, in fact he said it’s better than his shared house back in Cardiff😂 The rooms are beautifully decorated and has everything he needs to make living away a pleasant, stress free experience. The en suite room is also lovely if staying one or two nights, but the studios cater for the longer stay, letting you cook and even do your washing if needed - flatscreen tv, and even a place where he can study/eat
A big thumbs 👍up for these lovely, welcoming Studios.
