The Hotel is in a beautiful location and the staff was great. What was disappointing was some of the details that are usually better. Our glass shower leaked every time we used it and soaked the bathroom floor. The water for the master tub was brown and full of rusty sand. Since there is a water heater in the room, we tried to fill a second time but it was brown cold water. We spoke to the desk about both of these problems but nothing was done. We went to use the grills and only one burner out of two grills worked which make it very hard to cook for 4 people.

I’ve been to St Thomas before but this is first time at this resort. It’s been an amazing experience! We have a room on the end of the Tortolla building and the views are outstanding! Definitely request a high floor for best views. The staff have been very friendly and their Covid procedures are the best I’ve seen ! I feel safer here than in the USA. They need our tourism $’s so please don’t hesitate to book here ! We did not rent a car but you def need one if not afraid to drive on left side. Taxis are readily available at the lobby.
The beach is gorgeous at the resort with chairs and umbrellas and swim mats available. The pool area has comfortable padded lounge chairs and activities during the week. We enjoyed the water aerobics and Zumba. Hot tub and gym were closed due to Covid.
I cannot wait to return !!!

This place is incredible- top notch. The rooms are brand new. Pool area is gorgeous and there is always plenty of taxis waiting there to carry you wherever you need to go. The room is a 2 bedroom and there are some 3 bedroom. Also is a grilling area we used every night! Plenty of parking. Very nice resort. I’ve stayed at a few on the island- hands down the best. You won’t be disappointed.

2 years ago I wrote the review below. It all still stands. A few things to add in the time of COVID: The staff (and most people on the island) was good about wearing masks and the property felt very clean. As guests, you need to do your best to keep your distance from others but the resort was not crowded and you could always find beach and pool chairs. This time, our 2nd time at this hotel, we had a slight issue with our room. Rita (the rooms controller) and her staff went above and beyond to resolve the issue and make sure we had a wonderful vacation. Everything was handled as remotely as possible. No housekeeping but you could always request anything you needed. We love this property so much. This was the break we needed after 5 months quarantining in NYC. Thank you!!

Previous review: This is a beautiful property on a gorgeous setting. The water is crystal clear and the snorkeling is great. Even though it's large, it feels intimate. The pool and beach are very close together so you can easily go from one to the other. The rooms are lovely and well appointed, all with amazing views. There is so much to do. A few hi-lites: The Cat boat trip, night time kayak, trip to St. John - Trunk Bay, Secret Harbor Beach, Lindberg beach (amazing snorkeling). The ONLY downside is the groceries are REALLY expensive (and we live in NYC!). We would go back in a minute!

We ended up doing a last minute exchange through Interval and were lucky enough to book here. We couldn’t be happier with our 2bedroom in Jost Van Dyke. Loved that there are two double beds in the second room - perfect for our teenagers.
The location was central to get to just about anywhere on the island. This was our first visit to STT and we decided we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
All the staff we encountered were kind and courteous.
In the time of a pandemic it really was heaven to escape to this beautiful island and resort. We felt safe everywhere we went. USVI is doing a great job. Thank you!

Questions & answers about the rooms

Most stores mentioned are suffice. Pueblo is extremely close and as mentioned, has a natural/health food store right next door. Pricing will NOT be like stateside based on the fact that all grocery operators must bring their food from the states or elsewhere which is very expensive. We found food to be approximately 2X what it is stateside. All of that said, the cooking situation at the Frenchmen's Cove property is great. The rooms are equipped with ample cooking capability and there are BBQ pits onsite that are great AND are cleaned EVERY DAY by the staff. We used this multiple times while we were there last week and it worked out great.

Not all inclusive.....but 2 and 3 bedroom villas are great for families or multiple families. We had 7 adults in our group in a 2 bedroom villa and never felt cramped.

We stayed in one of the lower buildings, Jost Van Dyke, and it was great. Even our 2nd floor villa had a fabulous view. You might want to try to get one of the lower buildings with your needs. It’s a wonderful resort. Enjoy!

We snorkeled at the Frenchman’s Cove beach, Magen’s Bay and Lundquist Beach. Each of these areas is mostly sand and sea grass, so you’ll see wandering schools of small fish and maybe a turtle or conch or two. Here are some ways to save money: 1) The snorkeling at these areas is not as interesting as in a reef area so, you could easily share equipment. However, we did not go out toward the point, where it might be rockier and may have more to see. 2). I had brought goggles and a snorkel to save space and did not regret leaving fins home that I would use to cover more ground or protect my feet against rocks. Inexpensive mask/snorkel are available in the store, which you could bring back as souvenirs. One last point is that the best reef/fish viewing experience we had was at Coral World, which is near Lundquist Beach. Normally entrance fees were $20/adult, but due to Hurricane Maria damage, it was only $10. Their underwater, 360 degree observatory has huge tarpon and jacks, corals, other sea creature in a reef setting with color explanatory exhibits. They did have a “scuba” experience if you want to get wet.

Hi, we stayed in a two bedroom villa last month and the washer and dryer were located in the kitchen/living room area. They do provide you with laundry detergent and you can request more if you need some.
