We visited in February after a couple of weeks in Kingston, looking for 2 days of downtime and relaxation. The room wasn't ready when we got there but waited at the beachfront bar, which was very pleasant. We were approached by one of the staff to "view a 60 minute presentation" (sales pitch, like being on a package holiday to Spain 20 years ago), we refused but were asked again 4 or 5 times over the course of 2 days, each time our refusal being met with a sullen response. We ended up spending a lot of time in the ocean, trying to avoid the staff (the security guard also tries to hit you up for beers).
The room we were in had leaking pipes in the bathroom, so we woke up on the 2nd day with the bathroom covered by an inch of water. We complained and the maintenance guy tried his best to fix it, with minimal success (another inch of water the following morning). We received no offer of anything (compensation/a drink/whatever!) to make up for the inconvenience of being a) flooded and b) stuck in the room for a whole morning while the handyman did his work.
The beach is small but very nice. The water is quite rough at that point, so couldn't see any fish or sea life - we've stayed in places closer to Ocho Rios on previous visits, where we did some decent snorkelling, but that wasn't possible here.
There's a nice fish hut about 5 or 10 minutes walk away called Merle's Fish Joint (not affiliated with the hotel), where you can eat whatever the day's catch is whilst sitting at the back of the hut overlooking the White River, where there are loads of interesting waterbirds.
There's a lady who offers massages on the beach for about $60 USD per hour, which I split with a friend for 30 mins each. The massage was excellent.
I found the hotel overpriced for the state of the accommodation offered (although obviously a lot cheaper than the myriad of all-inclusive places available in the area), and I particularly didn't like being hassled by the hotel staff to spend my time watching a sales presentation in which I had zero interest. I understand they're trying to supplement their income, but it would encourage return visits if they offered services that would help people relax while on holiday (and preferably in a less persistent and aggressive manner).
