We received a very warm welcome at the Eskdale Inn; the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, and the room was well stocked and very comfortable, with a great view. The pub is popular but the pub noise at night didn't disturb us. The location was perfect - handy for the station but not right next to it.
There were several pub dogs - not a problem for us as we love dogs, but anyone less keen should probably be aware in advance.
Seems the website reviews are from the previous owners not the current.
Tried to book food for a Sunday night & was told 'we don't do food after 5pm' pardon me but the website says you do food till 8pm! [previous owner not current].
Room was ok, large 6' bed which was nice. Upstairs sadly had a dog 'smell' which was quite strong.
Breakfast was ok but the whole deal was not what I thought it was going to be.
Maybe not the current owners fault, but that's the information I booked it on, sorry!
Booked in last minute for two nights in the North Yorks Moors.
Lovely clean room and made to feel very welcome.
Fabulous home cooked breakfast sets you up for the day.
This is a thriving village pub at the weekends, well supported by locals which is always a good sign.
Definitely recommend and plan to return.
my wife and I stayed for one night while attending a wedding, had a great stay
room very clean good shower bed very comfortable. Breakfast superb you need to be hungry to eat it all. A cracking pint of Black Sheep. overall an excellent stay
We have just returned from an excellent three night stay with Jasper our border terrier and we were all made to feel very welcome. Lovely comfy room overlooking a field of sheep. Absolutely amazing breakfast which set you up for the day. Jasper even got his own biscuits :-). We would definitely recommend staying here if you want peace and quiet.
