Virtually everything is a positive at this villa, especially the warmth and friendliness of Viola, who welcomed us on arrival and provided help when needed! She is so nice. The villa is large, full of character and with huge bedrooms - a bit like being in a stately home! The restaurant next door, that will deliver to the villa if the 50m walk is too far (!!), is a huge plus. Proximity to Florence is great, yet still in the countryside. The only reasons for not marking this as 5 stars are I) it would be a fabulous view across Tuscan countryside if the trees hadn't been left to partially block this; ii) too little furniture around the pool (only 4 sun loungers). However, overall the other virtues far outweigh these.
We spent one week at the Torricella and it was a perfect week. Excellent location if you want to visit the area. Our apartment was #4 with two bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. There is also a pool which we enjoyed very much after a day spent visiting the area. I also suggest the restaurant as it was excellent food with a nice over view of the olives trees and vineyards. The service we had there was really over our expectation, a special thank you to Viola. I have been traveling a lot but never seen somebody dedicated like Viola. You will enjoy your stay for sure.
We recently spent a week at the Podere Torricella villa. We had a two bedroom apt. There was a kitchen with stove and small fridge, which was great to cook meals and keep some food. We also had cooking lessons with the caretaker, Viola, and her husband. This was fantastic! The apt was very nice, double bed could have been a little more comfortable, though. The view is beautiful and the pool is very nice. There is a restaurant open some evening after 8 that is within walking distance that makes amazing meals! Overall we loved our stay and would highly recommend to anyone!
