Everything about the resort is amazing except for one thing which I'll get to later.

Service -- Excellent. Staff was courteous and helpful. Everyone greets you with a smile and a "good morning / evening" while walking around the island.

Rooms -- Great. Spacious, clean and A/C was excellent in our room. We did have an issue with the A/C in one room breaking down on our last night. Staff offered immediate solution and they did manage to fix it in a few hours.

Amenities -- Fine. There's a nice infinity pool, a kiddie pool, a sandbar, lagoon for kayaking, and a hiking/biking trail. Pools are well-maintained and there are lifeguards at all times to ensure safety. The hiking trail is recommended for people with enough stamina to explore.

Food -- Average. Quite pricey for a local traveler as the food appears to be priced for foreign tourists. Taste is alright but the price and portion isn't justified in my opinion. An ala carte meal averages about 400-600 PHP which is about three times more expensive than having the same meals on the mainland. Luckily, the stay did come with a buffet breakfast where you can get back some value at least.

Counting hours to check out. Disapointing experience

While the resort is located on beautiful island and quite pricy, it does not offer a service matching the expectations.

- I booked scuba diving and received email with confirmation. Sadly, nobody seemed to be aware of our booking; diving center kept saying „no diving” or „dive guide not on the island”; it’s only after long discussion with the front tmdesk, when they suddenly found a dive guide and we could do a dive (ofshore only as „the boat was not ready”)

- we needed to ask for housekeeping to clean our room (we did not have a toilet paper even) and the remaind few times about the request as the cleaner was not showing up for long time

- there is not much to do on the island if there is raining. Worst part is, that those few activities (kayaking at the lagoon, pools, tables in the only restaurant…) are daily crowded by the external guests coming for daily visit to the island. So, the resort is not bale to provide any activities, but makes it hard to use those, which do exist on the island

- I do not know how to describe the food :(
No vegetables served for breakfast, squids coming not cleaned or underdone; we basically ate pizza all the time

- the stuff is friendly, but visibly lacks good management and coordination;
The idea of christmas dinner on the beach, under the stars seems good… Well, not if its windy and rainy all the time (which is the reason resort cancelled divings, trips etc). Our child spent xmass eve covered with the towel to protect from cold…

Resort awaits good management and more reasonable approach to accepting guests for daily visits - then it can be good place in the future. For now - better to avoid and go somewhere else.

Infinity pool was nice. The sea was gorgeous blue and i could see reef sharks im the front of my room. Service provided however can be improved. I booked via their website for premier deluxe room. Inclusions included bluewater coolers, celebration cake, 500php off dinner bill, 20% off spa. I didnt get first 2 items and since i am.not very particular about such details, i let it slide. When i check out, i saw my dinn erbill was charged the full bill without 500 php off and my spa didnt have 20% off. The staff only corrected the mistake after i asked about it. Room supposedly comes with 2 complimentary bottles of water but i only saw one. Had to call housekeeping to deliver another. And any extra water after that was 100php per bottle so do bring your own water. There were a lot of mosquitoes so dont even bother trying the trek routes. The routes have no signage and it's really a forest in there.. Which i guess preserves nature but u won't want to enter unless u are covered with DEET from head to toe. I got bitten even after spraying lavishly with repellent.
Food is average. Breakfast mains was good but only one portion per pax, only the bread and fruits were endless supply. In summary, i enjoyed my one night there, but i prob won't stay there ever again.

I booked this resort because of the location and expectation it would be quiet and blissful.

I was aware that the sandbar gets day trippers but did not realise that the hotel also allows (for a fee) day visitors to use the pool and hotel facilities.

Oh my what an awful, loud, overcrowded place this is. The weekends are worse.

I cut my stay short and I left after 24 hours as I could not handle it. It was dreadful.

The island is incredible and the water Cristal clear but you can not get a sun lounger by the pool neither can you relax. This for me is also a huge security risk because you can not leave anything lying around due to potential theft. I really despise hotels that allow day visitors. I have stayed at a few and promptly left. It takes away the point on staying for a premium in such a resort when anyone can use the facilities. Sumilon is very pretty so clear people will take advantage. Just stay on the mainland and get the first boat across in the morning.

More in general.

The rooms are nice and well appointed. Privacy is an issue as most rooms open up on to the sea which is amazing view wise but the main path walks by the front of your room.

The food is dreadful and I got a very bad stomach after eating in the hotel and still suffering 3 days later. They also run out of favourites (probably due to day visitors) the menu is extremely limited.

The final warning. For anyone who is mobility restricted should avoid as well. Very steep stairs.

I regretted booking this property.

If you want to visit Sumilon do a day trip.

My wife and I visited recently with a couple friend of ours and all of us truly enjoyed our stay in every sense.

We had booked the two bedroom villa with the pool and it met and exceeded our expectations - from the picturesque setting and privacy to quaint rooms topped off with an excellent wifi signal(since we had some work to get in as well)! The staff epitomized customer centricity and service and complimented this beautiful location. Krisha(front desk), Chin, Jojo(restaurant) and Ricky(security) were exceptional and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and convenient as they could. Much appreciated and look forward to returning soon!
