We were disappointed as soon as we got there. The first thing you see coming trough by car is a gate with an area full of trash bins . The place it’s NOT a proper Masseria but an agriturismo and it is super expensive relatively to the quality of the things it offers and relatively to the other places in the Apulian region. The place itself and the swimming pool are much smaller than what they appear to be on pictures .
While the local staff was cordial and professional the non local owner verbally abused us .
I would definitely NOT recommend this place.

We stayed 7 days in Masseria Pugliese. The Masseria is very well maintained and beautifully styled. From the swimming pool you have a magnificent view at the sea. The breakfast is very good, freshly baked bread, fresh fruit, different sorts of yoghurts, eggs, ham and cheese, croissants. Lunch and dinner are also very good, great value for money. They have a beautiful terrace. The service is outstanding. The nearest sandy beach is 8 minutes by car. You can visit the popular historic places easily by car from here.

This place is just beautiful! From the decoration of the room to the garden, pool and the views of the sea.
The room was very clean, well decorated and with all amenities needed. The lighting in the room was also very cool. The room was also very modern with a key that turned on/off the water and lights when we entered or exited the room.
Our view was splendid! We could see the blue sea every morning and a lavender and Rosemary garden at out doorstep. I used to bring some lavender to the room at night to sleep better and would grab some Rosemary to smell on my way to breakfast. Aromatherapy everyday.
Breakfast was delicious! Delicious pastries, fruits, yogurt, jams, juices, cappuccino, cakes... There s always a lot of food. I d eat on pasticiotto everyday.
The restaurant is delicious and the price is fair! We loved eating there. Everything fresh and homemade.
The pool is beautiful but we never had a chance to use it because we were always at the beach.
It s an strategic place to visit the Salento because everything (best beaches and towns) is at a short distance. In your room you ll find a keychain that has info about driving times to the best beaches nearby.
They sell local olive oil and other local products. We bought a 5L tin of oil and the latte di mandorla (almond milk) that were divine! Don t leave without bringing those with you!
Staff was always cool and eager to help us with anything!

I loved my stay so much that felt sad when I left. I felt connected to this place. After a long day, it was always great to come back to such a nice and beautiful masseria. Highly recommend it!

We stayed 4 nights in this masseria.

LOCATION

The Masseria is located in Torre Suda, a few hundred meters away from the sea, at the end of a quiet country road. It is set among fields of olive trees and offers a very quiet and relaxing setting. It is about 15 minutes away from Gallipolli, and you can access some nice lidos in 10 to 15 minutes as well. We found it to be a nice location, far enough from the hustle and bustle, yet close to everything if you have a mean of transportation.

AMBIENCE

The Masseria is a nice ensemble of old and new, all tastefully blended together. The pool and garden area is simply amazing, with a nice "beachlike" pool overlooking the countryside. There are plenty of sunbeds and areas where you can enjoy the sun or the shade. In the main building, there is a large terrace where you can have a drink or breakfast, and common areas are nice and welcoming. It almost feels like a home away from home (complete with an adorable dog!)

ROOM

We had booked the turchese suite, which sits at the top of a small tower. The room itself is very simple, with white washed walls, wooden elements and a blue canopy bed. It is quite romantic and speaks of warm summer days. The adjoining bathroom is large, and also very simply decorated, but with nice and design fixtures. One big plus of the room is the large terrace, which has a table with some chairs, as well as two sunbeds and the most wonderful view on olive trees and the sea. It is quite secluded and really felt like our own little corner of paradise.

BREAKFAST & FOOD

Breakfast is served in the common room, or on the terrace depending on the weather. In traditional Italian fashion, there is a good spread of sweets, such as pastries, toast with jam, fruit, yogurts and cakes, but hardly any savoury choices. Coffee is delicious and there is a large choice of juices (industrial but of good quality).

SERVICE

We really enjoyed discussing and interacting with Elisa, who was very kind and always helpful. Upon our arrival, she made us feel welcome and gave us a lot of indications on restaurants, lidos and points of interest around the hotel. Unfortunately, in her absence, other members of the staff were less helpful and seemed a bit disinterested or untrained to take care of guests. Although it did not bother us too much, it unfortunately gave a sense of amateurism, which never happened when Elisa was around.

VALUE

The masseria is really lovely, but does not come cheap compared to other masserie of similar categories. The property is great, but some efforts should be deployed on service to really get it to the level it aims for.

IN SUM

Very nice masseria, tastefully renovated with a contemporary touch and ideally situated in a great area of Puglia. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to visit again if we go back to this region.

We spent one very pleasant week in this charming and exclusive Masseria very close to the sea.
The family rooms are very comfortable and quiet, the service, the swimming pool and the restaurant very good.
We recommend without any hesitation to stay in Masseria Pugliese to discover the Salento.
