Due to circumstances we were unable to return this winter. However, we have stayed at Sunset for many years and always receive a warm welcome from the family. If you want a comfortable, spacious room with a balcony overlooking the sea (and fabulous sunsets) then this is the place for you. The adjoining restaurant is well known for not only the beautiful food, but for reasonable prices. Surin Beach is a five minute walk away and is stunning. Hopefully, we will return
one day, meanwhile our son and his partner will keep the tradition alive!
When me and my friends arrived, we were very tired after trip and cant wait for room. Hotel gave us lower standard of room, what we booked over one month ago. After we informed staff about mistake, hotel informed us that they are overbooked and we should be happy that we have even this room. Room was dirty and small with very bad smell inside. It was completly worse then we had on booking. After our infomation, hotel owners become rude, tell us to "f*** off" and we left this hotel. We lose almost one day of trip because of them
I booked this hotel in advance and got confirmation about it, but when I arrived, they said it's overbooked, and they have no rooms!!! Anyway, they tried to solve situation by proposing room above the restaurant next door. After long trip I was tired, so I took it, but it was far away what I was expecting for. Room was below averige, noicy and many things didn't work there.
So, don't trust that you get what you have ordered!
Service was terrible. We got the room without the window for our one night stay. We accepted room because we were just passing by. Maybe the hotel was over book. We didn't get any explanations. Just "sights"! Worse service experience in Thailand.
We ended up checking out a day early. The hotel is dated, and long overdue a renovation. The room had an odd smell, and the bathroom wasn't particularly clean. Staff were OK, but we had to ask for towels to be provided.
