Recently stayed in this place for a team building activity.

Rooms/Hall
- conference hall is good for small groups, it's old-school but it's still ok; has good sounds equipment and has a projector; needs some improvement on airconditioning though - needs more HP; this hall can be rented in the evening for videoke (using the projector as the videoke screen)
- rooms are affordable but nothing fancy; old school CRT TV, 1HP split-type AC; repainted wooden beds with ordinary bedding; with a working mini-ref; average restroom, with bidet, shower enclosure, and hot/cold shower; water from the faucet is dirty - does not have foul smell but you will have second thoughts of using it for brushing your teeth

Facilities
- beach area is not suitable for swimming
- swimming pool is murky, none from our group tried this one
- has billiards and darts for the guests' use
- wakeboarding park - has an area for beginners and another bigger area for advanced players
- big parking area
- needs improvement on security - no roving guards, and no guard stationed on the gate of the beach

Food/Staff
- our group were satisfied with the food, exceeded our expectations (except for breakfast)
- staff are friendly and approachable based from our experience
- one of our companions left his phone in the room and their receptionist gave me a call to report it. Unfortunately we already left the area so they offered to ship the item to the owner (with the guest's expense of course)

Verdict: I still gave this resort a 4 star despite of the negative sides of it. I guess it depends on why are you going to the place. I would recommend this if your purpose is to wakeboard, nothing else. But if you're expecting a resort with fancy rooms, a nice beach front and swimming pool, then this is not the place for you.

Good location of the hotel/resort, with a pool on site and walking distance to the beach. Breakfast is plentiful and stations to choose from. Other options for food are also on site. Pool bar and beach bar serves cold fruity drinks.

This place really surprised me. Very well managed, a hard thing to find in the PI. Food was great (wood fired pizzas, pastas, and omelets were my favorites) with a lot of the ingredients made fresh on site (pasta, bread, sausage, etc.). The room was clean and well maintained. Staff helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Wakeboarding was a blast, and then you add in the pool, darts, ocean beach, billards, sauna, and you and the family will be all smiles. I have traveled in the PI for many years and the week spent here was one of the best. Very well managed. It was a peaceful stay with no lines at all for wakeboarding.

Went here for a day trip recently to try cable wakeboarding with a group that included several teenage boys. Lago de Oro was the first cable watersports facility in the country but has since been eclipsed in a way by Camsur Watersports Complex (CWC) in Bicol. CWC however is a whole day drive from Manila, or one has to take the plane. Lago de Oro is a pleasant 2-3 hour drive from Manila therefore very doable as a day trip if you want to experience wakeboarding. It is on the shore, but I wouldn't call it a beach. Not appealing for swimming in the sea.

The food was acceptable quality, not fantastic, though I should add it was a preset menu for the group and we didn't have a chance to try the house specialties. Food quantity was substantial for the cost, but again this was a group arrangement.

We had use of rooms for the day to shower, change and rest. The rooms assigned to us were in a newer building and therefore new, very clean, with strong airconditioning, cable tv, fairly good bathroom, minibar and small kitchenette. It would be more than acceptable for a family or group of friends staying the night.

The kids used the pool, which was clean when we were there. They have a sauna but I didn't have a chance to see if it was clean or even functioning.

For cable wakeboarding or kneeboarding, they have two manmade lagoons, actually converted from fish ponds that were used to grow prawns long ago until the owners had trouble with that and made the inspired decision to convert the otherwise idle ponds into watersports facilities. A smaller lagoon is set up for beginners, while the main lagoon is where one can really go all out. Their staff are competent and the equipment is well maintained. You are provided a helmet and lifevest, as well as use of the boards of course.

The attraction for this place is really the wakeboarding. It's a great experience - what a rush, and my body was aching for days after - and its easy to get to from Manila for a day or a weekend. However, that's really the ONLY reason I can think of to come here.

We recently visited this place since some people from work recommended this place. Me and my friends just went on a day trip so we didn't stay What I like about it is that they have good customer service. All communication was done through e-mail. Responses were very quick and almost in real time. When we arrived there the staff were helpful and friendly; especially those who were operating the wake boarding area. The atmosphere is great, the resort was peaceful and quiet. There was privacy. Especially at night time when the wind was cold and it felt like you want to stay even more.

What I didn't like was their shower room. You don't have a place to put your things or even hang your towel. The shower room was more like a comfort room. One cubicle was broken and the other one didn't have a lock. Nonetheless it was clean. But i wish they could make a better shower area for walk in guests. And I didn't think the food is value for money. I understand that foods in resorts are expensive due to the convenience but I feel like I didn't get what I paid for. The taste was just ok nothing special and you have to pay for so much. In the wake boarding area, if you fall from the far end of the lake you have to swim back which is very tedious.

Other than the negative comments, it is still a great place for wake boarding, just dipping in the pool and walking along the beach. The wake boarding area is large and you could experience so many turns maybe it depends on the season since there were not so much people when we went there. But what i like the most is the relaxing atmosphere.
