We stayed here during our 7 Day Iceland Tour with Arctic Adventure. Very ordinary hotel , small rooms and showers . Cramped room- Hardly room to move around inside the room. You get fish smell. Staff was nice.

We were put up here as part of an Arctic Adventures tour (on which I'll post a separate review.) Room was tiny, so small that the room door opened *outward* into the hall to make space for the bathroom door to open. No closet, just some hangers on the wall. No TV, spotty internet. Two single beds with nightstands touching them barely fit in the room Too cheap to supply a top sheet, just one of those washable comforters which smother you in warmer weather.

I'll grant that it was clean and the beds were reasonably comfortable, but otherwise the review which compared it to a youth hostel was spot on. Well below the level of everywhere else we stayed in this otherwise delightful country. Avoid.

A very poor hotel. We stayed here for two nights before and after a tour of the area, once in the main hotel the second in a cottage, some way away.

Hotel is old and run down, breakfast chaotic, kitchen staff not able to keep up with the crowd and consumption.

The room was basic and old.

Cottage was quite fun, quite small but quite walk away in the wet.

No idea if there is anywhere else to stay, bulgur I would certainly look for alternatives!

This was presented to me as a 3 star hotel. It’s not. The hotel room is very small and the breakfast was too simple. WiFi in the room didn’t work. The owner however was very nice. In general one can say that the hotel is outdated.

We stayed at the Hotel Dalvík for two nights in early July and were very pleased. Although unassuming on the outside, this hotel is a great place to stay when exploring the north of Iceland. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast was fantastic. We did a day trip to Akureyri, Lake Mytavn, Selfoss waterfall and Husavik. We then headed to the West fjords. Amazingly beautiful area. Definitely recommend this hotel.
