An ideal stay as part of the NC 500, the hotel has plenty of parking and warm welcome as you arrived. The room we were given had access through the garden with a separate room off the bedroom were you could sit and enjoy the garden. The facilities in the room were very good, it was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent with a great choice of food and a large select from the bar, the food was well prepared and hot, service was quick and friendly. A large breakfast in the morning sets you up for the day, again a good choice. Best to book the restaurant as it gets busy.

We stayed in the garden room with direct access to the garden for our dog, complete with a small porch for us to put our rucksacks and sort our kit out, and our own table and chairs to sit outside and enjoy and evening drink. Food was tasty, good range of choice, and friendly and helpful service. Perfect place to stay with a dog.

This was an excellent Hotel with welcoming staff and a nice atmosphere in a beautiful part of Scotland
Covid guidelines were followed strictly and the hotel was very clean. The room was nice with a sun room and, at our meal which was lovely, my Wife was presented with a large slice of cake to celebrate her Birthday.
Staff were very pleasant and attentive with a nice bar area and a good selection of local ales and spirits.
It was a bit strange not having a TV in the room, which we were told was due to bad reception, and there was not a lot in the village for us to see, but as we had been on the road for a while we didn't want to do a lot anyway. Would definitely recommend..

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We were all very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us especially as it was your wife's special day. Yes, we have no televisions in the hotel and though some people miss this, the peace and quiet give ample opportunity to relax. The wifi isn't too bad so it is normally possible to stream something on your own device if you require. Hopefully we may saa you again if you are in the area.

We stayed here while supporting a friend cycling the NC500. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our bedroom was clean but seemed like we had stepped into the 1930’s. There was no TV available which I always find handy to keep up with the news. The shower was over the bath, and I found it difficult to keep at a constant temperature. There was a step down to the bathroom.

The food is fantastic. I had the roast lamb which was the best dish I experienced during out 10 days in Scotland. The sticky toffee pudding was also sublime.
A breakfast of haddock and egg - was also excellent.

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review . We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our food and service. We were however somewhat surprised that you felt the room tired. Our beds and soft furnishings are all new and of high quality and the rooms well maintained. Some of the furniture is in keeping with the building but people normally enjoy the rich mahogany wardrobes and dressing table. We live in a building that is over 200 years old and the little oddities, for example stairs into the bathroom, only add to the character. I am sorry if this was a disappointment to you. We have no televisions ,which we clearly state on our website, due to a lack of signal within the valley where we are situated, however our wifi is normally adequate enough to allow people to catch up with the news on their devices.

We stayed at this hotel during our North Coast 500 tour. We stayed here on our Golden Wedding Anniversary and there was a bottle of Prosecco on ice in our room which was a lovely welcome. The owners and staff were all very friendly and efficient and covid hygiene was taken very seriously. Our room had an adjoining sunroom and patio with table and chairs. The dinner in the restaurant was excellent with good choices. Breakfast was also excellent, we had a full breakfast and a continental breakfast with ham, cheese and croissant. We would certainly recommend this hotel.
