Stayed here for a night after getting out of hospital and have to say it was great . Nothing was too much bother for the staff with all the covid stuff going on it felt almost normal . We had dinner in the bar area at night and everything was great and again the breakfast in the morning was excellent with one of the nicest porridges I've ever had . Also the complimentary tea and coffee in the bar in the absence of it being in the room due to covid was a nice touch . Would definitely return hopefully on a more relaxed visit again . Keep doing what you are doing.

Had sunday lunch here.
One of the best lunches we have in quite a while.
Great variety on the menu.
And plenty of servings.
Waiting staff were first class with their service.
We had it in the function room and the only downside was the kitchen.
Probably too close to the dining area.
Chef could be heard shouting at waiting staff and anyone in her kitchen.
Not nice to be listening to.
Apart from that the food and surroundings were perfect.
Highly recommend it if the kitchen issues are sorted.
But apart from that the food and service was excellent....

Definitely recommend the Arches hotel. The room and bathroom were a very good size and clean and comfortable. Good range of options for breakfast. Didn’t get to try dinner. Good location and conveniently right next to shops in Claregalway.

A warm welcome awaits you at The Arches Hotel. We arrived in teeming rain and howling winds. (A "soft" west of Ireland day!) At check in we were greeted by Jelena. She was most welcoming and very friendly. We were only staying for one night, but we were made to feel like our brief sojourn was, nonetheless, important to the hotel. We took the lift to our room, feeling delighted by our first impressions.

Our bedroom, if a little on the small side, was warm and it was spotless. Jelena had told us that there would be live music on the night, and she had kindly given us a room to the back of the hotel. (Room 110.) We never heard a sound and we slept well on a very comfortable mattress, with lovely bed linen.

We had a 3-course dinner on the night of our stay. The food was absolutely delicious. I had a steak, cooked exactly the way I requested and there was no surcharge for choosing this option, as is often the case in other hotels. My wife had, in her words, "the most perfectly cooked salmon I have ever tasted." The food was presented beautifully and our waiter, Sebastian, could not have been more accommodating, or indeed, charming and friendly. Again, although we were on an excellent rate, we were made to feel like special guests.

Breakfast was superb! There was no queuing at a buffet. My "Full Irish" and Mary's smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, were brought to our table, by a lovely young man who chatted to us about the weather and events of the day. Our fresh orange juice, hot toast and seriously good coffee was just perfection.

On checking out Brendan, the gentleman on reception, asked if we had enjoyed our stay. "YES" we said, rather enthusiastically. It turns out that Brendan was the owner and general manager. He was as warm and friendly as his bar staff, those wonderful waiters, the lovely girl we chatted to from house-keeping, Jelena on check-in, et al. It comes from the top, as they say.

We will be back! Thank you Brendan and Staff. You made two ordinary people feel very special.

We had our son's christening in the arches on the 1st Dec 18. Staff were excellent, food tasty and v. reasonably priced and we had a private room for our group
of 15 which was great. The small ones could run around and we could relax and chat. Table was laid out lovely with nice personal touches in the room to make our day special. Everyone was impressed and I would recommend it to anyone for a family or group occasion. We had lunch here previously on a few occasions and it is very reliable and good value for sure. Thanks to Brendan and all his team. We will definitely be back very soon for a bite to eat or the next family celebration. D
