Wonderful Auberge off the beaten path. Beautiful, quaint location next to a calming babbling brook and peaceful walking paths in the woods.
Staff is incredibly warm and friendly. Room was comfortable and extremely clean.
The food was amazing. My family always said, the sign of a good chef is in the sauces.... and the sauces (along with everything else) was delectable!
My spouse and myself spent an evening and a night atthis fantastic auberge.
It is secluded but not far from the highway, and you cannot hear anything but the wind. This is a very quiet place where one can really relax.
The room (Meunier) was perfect and well airconditionned during this heat wave (35 deg C). The king bed perfect, and we heard nothing from the adjacent rooms.
The dinner is what make this place so special, bringing a true culinary experience to your table. All staff were so happy to be there, and they made certain that you were always happy....from the entrance to the departure....
All in all, an experience that you must live if you are planning to be in that area.....do not discard it because it is not by the seaway, it is truly special !
All details exceptional well thought of, from the atmosphere, service, grounds, room and food. First class food. Savour all the local food exceptionally cooked in a 5 course service. Service is friendly. Breakfast was a buffet with homemade jams, bread croissants, cheeses , crepes, sausages ,quiche
We spent the weekend here (with 18 other family members as part of a reunion) and had a wonderful time. The setting is very relaxing, the food was wonderful and the room lovely. We had the Clair de Lune room and it was very comfortable. I was impressed that there were enough chairs (3) and reading lights where I needed them. Other nice touches were the wine glasses and make up mirror. My only caution is the shower is very low (it is under the slanted portion of the roof) and only really suitable for shorter people. The staff were wonderful at accommodating the needs of our large group. We also had a wonderful 4 course meal in a private dining room that was excellent.
Our group of four adults enjoyed our marvelous dinner and caring service from the owners' daughter. She was a delight. Chef Olivier and his kitchen brigade did not disappoint. The seasonal soup had my sister talking about it days later and I tried the quenelles for the first time--a house specialty well worth the tasting. Breakfasts remain at the usual high standard, served buffet style. Our rooms in the old mill part were comfortable and the warm welcome from owner Nancy in the dining room was very pleasing. We discussed our previous visits, which were a few years ago now. It was a pleasure to return and we hope to visit again in this warm and comfortable part of Quebec. It is very well-positioned for a visit to Grosse Ile, an historic site well worth a visit.
