We stayed one night but wish it could have been more. David, our host, was full of very useful information. Breakfast was great as well. The room we had a very comfortable bed. Highly recommended. The property is well located near a great little pub (Munros Bar) and Talisker Distillery.
Just returned from a 3 night stay. The location is as you’d expect from the name. The view from the house is beautiful. The accommodation, as with most b&b styles, is in the owners house. There are two rooms upstairs and the breakfast room on the ground floor. Rooms are en-suite and roomy. Tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean.
On arrival and each day, a small home bakes gift is left for you; ours were fudge, shortbread and scones - fantastic.
David, the host is friendly, knowledgeable about the island and cooks a mean breakfast.
There’s a bar a few minutes walk away that you can get evening meals in.
I’ve no hesitation in recommending Fineviews and look forward to returning in the not too distant future.
We stayed 2 nights at Fineviews. It is about 30 minutes from Portree. Beautiful, quiet location. Our room was very large and quite nice. It had a nice seating area that we enjoyed relaxing in during our brief downtimes. The tea and shortbread were appreciated too. There was a separate bedroom for our daughter. Breakfast was very, very good - porridge, egg/salmon bagel, & waffles in particular. David was very helpful & a great cook. Thank you! Highly recommended.
Dave Allan sets you up for the day with a generous breakfast of juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt, a wide array of cooked choices and welcomes you back with home-made shortbread or tablet with tea in your room, a great pick-me-up after a wild day out on the hills. The room is clean and comfortable with all mod cons and the seating area with books, TV, tea and coffee, a small fridge for guests' own use is a relaxing bonus. A pub within walking distance is very handy for copious evening meals. If only all B&Bs could achieve this standard!
My wife and I stayed at Fineviews for one night recently. On our arrival, we received a friendly welcome from the owner Davey, and after a bit of a chat, were shown to our room (Marsco Suite).
The room was large and very well appointed. There was a large comfortable bed, USB charging station, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, mini-fridge etc, as well as some homemade shortbread, courtesy of Davey's wife Lynda. The bathroom was also well appointed with a good shower and the Molton Brown products were a nice touch too. The room was spotlessly clean too.
Davey pointed us in the direction of the local hotel (Taigh Ailean), which was barely a five minute walk away, where we enjoyed a great meal in Munros Bar. Lovely food and a nice atmosphere.
Breakfast was very enjoyable, with plenty cooked choices, yogurt, cereal, toast and fruit juices etc. I can personally recommend the bagels with scrambled egg and salmon!
The property certainly lives up to its name and enjoyed taking in the stunning scenery whilst sitting at the picnic table in the back garden in the evening.
We are already making plans to re-visit Skye in the near future and hopefully will manage to stay for a few days next time.
Highly recommend staying at this B & B.
