A beautiful beach where besides resting and going for a deliciously refreshing swim, you can also eat at the restaurant and enjoy perfect sea views. Spend some time here in the afternoon while the sun is setting, or linger over a good meal with friends or family.
If you're spending some time in the downtown area to do some shopping or simply wandering around, Playa Norte makes for a perfect pit stop during the day. Here, you can grab a drink, relax by the sea, take a swim and just enjoy the beauties of the northern part of the island.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, head to Punta Sur. Here you'll find one of the most beautiful views that the island has to offer, ruins of ancient temples dedicated to the goddess Ixchel, and other sculptures that you can admire as you walk around.
Another nice spot to spend some time at while visiting Isla, Playa Tiburon has a nice restaurant offering delicious fresh grilled fish — the perfect way to refuel after taking a swim. (Be aware however that in this part of the island you will encounter more seaweed underfoot.)
If you feel like exploring the aquatic life of the area, come here to snorkel and discover what lies under the sea and inhabits the area around the reef. There's also a nice spot where you can enjoy drinks and snacks as the sun sets.
Another, however more expensive option, if you feel like exploring and doing some activities, is this natural reef park. Here you'll be able to cross zip lines, kayak, swim, use the pool, or rent a bike and explore every little corner.
El Farito is one of the best snorkeling sites on the island. From lobsters, to different kinds of fish, to the most beautiful corals you can imagine — the best of nature's bounty is on display here.
Makax Lagoon is home to one of the best sunset views around. Wander around to admire the native fauna and flora of the area before settling in to one of the local restaurants, and enjoying a meal as the sky turns crimson.
